Louize Wegman Jouret el ballout Heating Operating Sequence

 Primary Circuit: Boilers (BLR1/2/3), Primary Pumps, Liquid Flow Switches,

Immersion Temperature Sensors, Motorized Valves & Outdoor Temperature Sensor.

 Secondary Circuit CIR-HT1, CIR-HT2, CIR-FH1, CIR-FH2, CIR-LT1, CIR-LT2:

Secondary Constant Speed Pumps, Immersion Temperature Sensor , 3way Modulating
Valve.

Primary Circuit System Components

System components:

1. 3Nos. Boilers (BLR1/2/3) each equipped with: Start/Stop Signal, Volt Free Contact: Status (VFC
from Boiler Panel).
2. Boilers proof of flow via water flow switches.
3. Boilers Supply water temperature.
4. 3 Nos. of Boilers primary pumps (1 pump for each Boiler) each equipped with: Start Stop Signal,
pump running status (volt free contact from pumps electrical panel)
5. Monitoring of Outdoor Temperature Conditions through Outdoor Temperature Sensor.
Boilers Sequence of operation:

Boiler operation will be:

- Operation based on a manual start heating system. DDC will enable/disable the
Boiler/Pump sets automatically through the Display.

During Operation, Boilers and their primary pumps will be ordered to start first as described
below:
 At least one Boiler (Boiler 1) will be enabled.
 The DDC controller will order the boiler 2way open/close valve to open and wait till the
feedback from valve is received (an open status), then its dedicated Pump (Pump 1) will start
first then will order the Boiler (Boiler 1) to start second.
 If pump 1 failed to return a running status (via Status) within predetermined duration (30sec),
the pump will not start, valve will close and the same operation will shift to the second
Pump2/Boiler2 or Pump3/Boiler3 set as stated above.
 If Boiler 1 failed to return a running status (via Liquid Flow Switch) within predetermined
duration (30sec), the Boiler will not start as well as his dedicated primary pump and the same
operation will shift to the second Pump/Boiler or third Pump/Boiler set as stated above (depend
on the temperature difference between boilers setpoint and the max value of 3 boilers supply
temperature) .
 The enabled Boiler 1 will maintain the boiler supply temperature at 80C (setpoint value can be
changed easily from display).
 If Boiler 1 is not able to maintain the required 80C for a predetermined period of time (15min),
the second Pump2/Boiler2 set will be enabled based on the above sequence same time delay for
the third Pump3/Boiler3 (temperature difference of 5C between boilers maximum water supply
temperature value, note that this value can be changed through display). And in case, the second
Pump2/Boiler2 or Pump3/Boiler3 set failed to be enabled for the above reasons, the first
Pump1/Boiler1 set will stay enabled even if T=80C is not achieved.
 Once T=80C is maintained for a preset period of time (15min), Boiler 1 will be disabled first and
then after a predetermined time (1min), Pump 1 will then be disabled. Once Boiler 1/ Pump 1 are
disabled and if T=80C is still maintained for a preset period of time (15min), then Boiler 2 will
be disabled as well for boiler 3 first but Pump 2 or Pump 1 or pump 3 (equal run time) will stay
always enabled to maintain a circulation in the primary circuit.
 The alternation between Boiler1/Pump1, Boiler2/Pump2 & Boiler3/Pump3 is based on equal run
time.
 On first start the minimum running hours Boiler/Pump will be commanded to start first.
 Alarms are set into display to monitor faulty running units (flow switch fault alarm, pump
running status alarm, boiler running status alarm)
 On off heating request, boiler will turned off first, valve and his dedicated primary pump will
turn off after a pre-determinate time (5 min) to avoid overheating inside boiler and pipe line
 Outdoor Temperature is to monitor the outdoor conditions for the following purposes:
a- Outdoor temperature less or equal to 18C, Boiler Supply Temp is set to 80C. (to be confirmed
by Boiler Supplier)
b- Outdoor temperature higher than 18C, Boiler Supply Temperature is set to 75C. (to be
confirmed by Boiler Supplier)

Secondary Circuit System Components

General instruction:

There is two mode to enable the secondary circuit system:

1. Normal running mode
2. Floor heating mode

 In normal mode, all secondary set pumps (CIR-HT1, CIR-HT2, CIR-FH1, CIR-FH2,
CIR-LT1, CIR-LT2) will be commanded to start after boiler running status signal granted
within a pre-determinate time (2 min)
 In floor heating mode, all secondary set pumps (CIR-HT1, CIR-HT2, CIR-LT1, CIR-LT2)
will be commanded to turn off permanently and only the following secondary set pumps ( CIR-
FH1, CIR-FH2) will be commanded to start after boiler running status signal granted within a
pre-determinate time (2 min)
 These two modes are easily enabled through DDC panel display
Secondary pumps set CIR-HT1

System components:

1. 1 Set. of secondary primary pumps, each equipped with: Start Stop Signal, Volt free contact:
pump running status and trip signal.
2. Each set is equipped with 1No Immersion Temperature Sensors.
3. 1No 3way Modulating Valve is installed on each circuit respectively.

Sequence of operation:

- Set will run only in normal running mode. DDC will enable/disable secondary
Pumps/Motorized Valves set automatically as per one duty and one standby after granting
boiler running status within a pre-determinate time (2 min).

In normal running mode:

 Pumps and Motorized valves are enabled in order to maintain a predefined temperature, in the
heating circuit and they are interlocked with primary circuit set (Boiler/Primary Pump) (i.e At
least Boiler/Pump from Primary Circuit should be running in order to enable the secondary
circuit) after a predeterminate time (2min).
 This set of pumps serving old school radiators and will be ordered to run when the DDC
received at least one boiler on status feedback and when normal mode is enabled
 During Operation, Motorized Valve will be ordered to close first and let the hot water pass
inside circuit.
 If any pump belonging to secondary pumps set failed to return a running status within
predetermined duration (2sec), the second pump from the same set will be automatically
enabled.
 The alternating between 2 secondary Pumps is based on equal run time.
 In case of faulty running pump from set, DDC stop the tripped pump and automatically order
another pump to run within 1 sec.
 one pump belonging to secondary set will keep on circulating even if temperature reach setpoint
value in the circuit.
 The 3way Modulating valve will modulate to the close position in a PID manner every time
Temperature is converging towards its pre-determined setpoint value. (i.e 80C in this case).
 The value of Temperature in the secondary circuit is interlocked with the value of Temperature
setpoint in the secondary circuit; it will order the 3way valve to modulate in order to return
heating water to main header and save energy.

In floor heating mode:

 DDC will order the set to stop running immediately, both pumps of set will be off
 at the same time, DDC will order the 3way valve to fully open in order to close the hot water
from the main header to inject through radiators and return to boilers.
