COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course deals with the basic principles of law in relation to contracts and obligations. It involves discussion of the nature, sources, kinds and extinguishment of
obligations. The course deals, likewise, with the nature, elements, characteristics of contracts including defective contracts and other miscellaneous topics relevant to the
course.

COURSE REQUIREMENT/S:
 Online Attendance during scheduled class;
 Online Reports;
 Project (such as, but not limited to, Industry Study Presentation, Reaction Papers etc.);
 Quizzes;
 Assignments (such as, but not limited to, Research Works, Case Analysis etc.); and
 Major Examinations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course, the student is expected to:
1. Understand the purpose and importance of law;
2. Understand the principles of law affecting the creation and negotiation of contracts and the corresponding obligations arising there from;
3. Describe the nature and classification of civil obligations and contracts and their application in everyday activities;
4. Appreciate the value these basic principles contribute to the development of a more socially responsible person;
5. Enable the student to integrate the value of honesty in applying the basic principles of law on contracts and obligations;
6. Enable the student to cultivate within himself an awareness of his responsibility about obligations and contracts.
7. Enable the student to react favorably and with integrity to situations that would require knowledge of the law on obligations and contracts;
8. Make decisions in accordance with the law on obligations and contracts. Be familiar with e-commerce implications for the accounting profession
COURSE POLICIES:
 The course instructor and the online learners will use the Google Classroom App and other applicable App for carrying out this course. Google Classroom App will be
used as a portfolio, while other Apps like Zoom App or Google Meet App can be used as tool for online face to face discussions as may be agreed upon by the instructor
and learners;
 The instructor will upload reading materials, lecture notes, written activities, examinations, etc. in the Google Classroom App and the learners should upload their
unplagiarized projects, assignments, reaction papers, research works, etc. in the same App which will be subjected to Originality Testing. These uploaded materials by
the instructor and the online learners shall be compiled in the “ePortfolio” to support an authentic evaluation and delivery of the course;
 Online attendance of the learners will be checked every online session. 30 minutes late will render the learner absent for the session. If the learner missed the session,
the learner will be responsible for what was discussed online by the instructor;
 Online learners should pass all the major exams;
 Online learners should attain satisfactory score for their online reports;
 Projects and assignments should be submitted and uploaded on time by the learners. Instructor reserves the right to reject projects and assignments that will be
submitted late or do not meet the standards expected to a student.
 The instructor and the online learners should observe mutual respect.
