1. Look, listen and repeat.
a. Introduction of letter , its sound
 Use a card with letter (or write on board - Ss listen to the teacher

the new lesson.

ei /.”
 Repeat several times and check students’

1. Warm up(4 mins)
 Greet students -Ss guess the name of the

 Divide the class into 2 or 4 teams with the same
numbers of students in each team. - Ss work in groups

teacher (at the same time); teacher whispers a
word/words to them.
 The first student whispers the word/words to
the student sitting next to or behind him/her and
so on.
 The last students say the word/words aloud.
4. Chant (Track 06) (5 mins)
 Write the lyrics of the chant on the board - The students repeat.
 Without music, use the phonics cards and step
students to sing the chant with fish and chips. - Ss listen and sing along
Do the same with cat and hat. - Ss sing and do corresponding
 With music, the whole class sings the whole actions

each word.

Act It Out Game (5 mins)
 Choose a student to come to the front of the - Ss look at the cards

 Ask the students to take out their colour
pencils/ crayons.
 Name some colours and ask the students to
repeat.
 Use the structure: “This is my…” and ask the
students hold up the colour pencils/ crayons - Ss take out their colour pencils/

 Have the students colour the apples that have - Ss repeat
Aa in them.
 Give the students 2 minutes to colour in the
apples that have Aa in them. Go around the
classroom providing any necessary help. - Ss colour the apple

 Divide the class into two teams 1 and 2.
 Hide the phonics cards around the classroom.
 Write the following for each team:
1: ant, acrobat
2: apple, alligator
