OWNERS’ COTERIE

Set against the backdrop of the sun setting over

the waters of Sanctuary Cove, the Ocean Club
held an intimate Owners’ Coterie cocktail party,
bringing a little je ne sais quoi to the Sanctuary
Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) in late May.
Invitees stepped on board M/Y Patriot and
M/Y Corrobboree and straight into a world that
echoed all the grace and sophistication of the
Pantages Theatre during Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Given the demands and the sheer logistics

of their occupation, captains and crew
rarely find time to connect with each other;
a reality only compounded in the wake
CAPTAINS’ CONCLAVE of the pandemic.
With this in mind, within the setting of
the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show (SCIBS),
the Ocean Club organised for a group of captains and industry leaders to indulge in a well-
earned catch-up. Named the Captains’ Conclave, these industry stalwarts enjoyed an afternoon
of canapés and a collection of cocktails inspired and supplied by Inner Circle Rum, one of the
partners of the event. As Hillary Buckman Founder of Ocean Media commented, “Their input to
our industry is so important – they are our connection to the owners and, together, we need to
make sure owners get the best experience from yachting.”
