IV. Introduction :
In this session, you are going to recall the Institutional Learning Outcomes, Program
Educational Outcomes, Program Learning Outcomes and Course Learning Outcomes. .
Specifically, you will orally describe on how you will act as an MU student who abides the
school policies, guidelines, requirements, and outcomes.

Below are key concepts for reading. Details of these concepts are discussed further in the
hand-outs attached herein.

VISION, MISSION, OBJECTIVES

Vision
The Misamis University upholding the principle that God is the center of its existence
and education its service offering to God and Country aims to be the leading private non-
sectarian institution of learning.

Vision
A leading center of Teacher Education that meets national and international standards in
the training of professional teachers for the pre-elementary, elementary and secondary schools in
the country.

Mission
The Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) Program of the College of Education is
committed to develop pre-elementary and elementary school teachers who can teach across
different learning areas in the basic education.
The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Program of the College of Education is
committed to develop high school teachers who can teach in one of the different learning areas in
the basic education.

Program Objectives
In the pursuit of this mission, the College is committed to produce BEEd and BSEd
graduates who:
1. Demonstrate the basic and higher level literacy, communication, numeracy, critical
thinking and learning skills needed for higher learning;
2. Demonstrate a wide range of teaching process skills including curriculum
development, lesson planning, materials development, evaluation and teaching
technologies;

A graduate of BEEd program is equipped with knowledge, skills, and values that enable
him to:
1. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the diversity of learners in various learning
areas.
2. Manifest meaningful and comprehensive pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of the
different subject areas.
3. Utilize appropriate assessment and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes.
4. Manifests skills in communication, higher order thinking and use of tools and
technology to accelerate learning and teaching.
5. Demonstrate positive attributes of a model teacher, both as an individual and as a
professional.
6. Manifest a desire to continuously pursue personal and professional development.
7. Promote Filipino culture through voluntary participation in community activities
particularly in the preservation of rational heritage and conservation of natural
resources.
8. Conduct a research as an important learning experience using appropriate research
methodologies.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES


At the end of the semester, the students are expected to:
1. Investigate the basic science concepts and processes in Chemistry through hands-on
activities for elementary level.
2. Discuss how organisms live and survive, reproduce, and interact with the environment.
3. Develop instructional materials needed in teaching Science in the elementary grades.
4. Perform a demonstration teaching that shows scientific inquiry, positive attitudes and
values in teaching science in the elementary grades.
