Hello everyone, my presentation today is about the recruitment and selection of VNG

Corporation.

My presentation is divided into 3 parts. I'll begin with Introduction, then I will look at the
recruitment process. Finally, I’ll go on to talk about the selection process.

I. Introduction
- VNG Established in 2004 and has become the top Internet Company in Vietnam. It offers a
wide range of products and services, categorized in 4 business groups: Online Games,
Payment, Zalo, and Cloud.
- VNG has about 4600 employees (Includes members with current employer listed as VNG
Corporation, including part-time roles)
- It Headquarters In Ho Chi Minh City
- Regarding the working environment at VNG, the business has repeatedly won the title of
"100 best workplaces in Vietnam".

II. Recruitment Process
VNG always focuses on the importance of human resource development as a qualitative
breakthrough for long-term sustainable development. VNG’s human development
strategy is reflected in their organizational structure where employees are empowered
and make decisions.

As you can see on the slide, VNG has 2 sources of recruitment: internal and external.

1. Sources of recruitment
First, about the internal
1.1. Internal
● At VNG, recruitment from internal resources usually happens in job positions that are
higher than the starting level of one profession or rearrange jobs to bettersuit
employees' abilities and interests. VNG’s employees always stand a chance to relocate
to gain experience and enhance their strengths.
● Job posting: Recruitment is made effective through the company website. This method
is publicly implemented and has a significant stimulating effect on the psychology of
employees who contribute to the corporation because they can receive equal
opportunities to apply for attractive positions in the corporation. VNG has a website
named START VNG - an internal website of VNG allows every employee to read news
and notifications of the company.

1.2. External
VNG has two internship programs aimed at senior students, or recent graduates who
want to take the entrance examination and work at VNG: VNG Fresher and VNG
Internship with the desire to give opportunities to young people who are willing to take
on challenges and show their passion for their careers.
Beside that, there still have other source that VNG use for recruitment

VNG Fresher Program is divided into 2 types - First is For technology students and fresh
graduates
● VNG Fresher
○ For technology students and fresh graduates
1. VNG Tech Fresher is the largest recruitment and training program for senior students
with technology majors and fresh graduates from IT and technology faculty. When
signing up for VNG Tech Fresher, they will have a chance to join 3 leading product
segments: ZingPlay Game Studios, ZaloPay, and VNG Cloud.
2. VNG Game Development Fresher: Known for being the largest recruiting and training
Game Developer program in Vietnam, several young game developers have their talent
explored after joining GDF.
○ For students and freshers from non-IT majors
3. VNG Level Up Fresher: this is the largest recruitment and training program for
non-tech talents from VNG. In 2022, VLUF offers the opportunity to explore the game
industry in Marketing, Product Operations, and Game Design.
4. VNG Talent Acquisition Trainee: is an exclusive recruitment and training program for
students interested in the field of human resources. Selected candidates will have a
chance to experience working in a professional environment, and equip them with
knowledge and skills to become Talent Acquisition experts in the future.
And some other program such as Brand Communications Trainee and VNG Game Design
Fresher
● In addition to VNG Fresher, the company also organizes VNG Internship program; VNG
Entrance Program is for interns who need to practice at the business.

● Direct recruitment: In order to apply to VNG through direct job application, candidates
can choose suitable job vacancies which are regularly updated at VNG's website. With
the direct recruitment process, VNG has a variety of vacancies for experienced and
inexperienced candidates.

● Recruiting via Internet: Besides the above programs, VNG also has 2 official
recruitment channels: Facebook-VNG Recruitment and LinkedIn-VNG Corporation.
1. Facebook: Mainly use Ads to promote and update information about the business
and post recruitment attached to the official website link so that candidates can
access directly to the website and apply.
2. LinkedIn: Applicants can access LinkedIn and view job information in the Jobs
section, then can apply directly through LinkedIn

● Informal recruiting:
On the official websites of VNG in the Jobs section, there is a "Refer a friend" or "Refer an
applicant" section, which allows people in the company to introduce jobs to people they
know and are likely to be suitable for that job. This is a very effective source and easy to
match for companies such as VNG because people in the company have a good
understanding of the company's culture and way of working, so they can introduce people
who they see as suitable for both work and the organization through references.

Remarkably, the recruitment process at VNG is unique and intelligent because they concentrate
on the youth resource. That is also a way they approach fresh graduate students who are very
potential leaders in the future for the creation and innovation.

III. Selection Process
● The VNG Fresher recruitment and training program
VNG Fresher is the VNG entrance exam program for third, fourth or graduating year
students. With VNG Fresher, students are trained by enterprises to maximize their
knowledge, professional expertise, become young, dynamic, global talents, and gradually
become senior VNG experts.

1. Round 1: Profile

- Applicants visit VNG Fresher's website to search for suitable internship programs.
- When they feel fit and want to take the entrance exam and work at VNG,

candidates need to click on the "Register" button, fill in the form.
- In the personal information section, candidates who wish to apply for the position of
trainee are required by VNG to submit a soft CV showing their personal capacity.
- After sending the CV as well as personal information, candidates should check their
email to ensure that they have received a successful registration confirmation email
from VNG.

2. Round 2: Professional knowledge test

- When candidates pass the application round, VNG will send them information about
the next round is Professional knowledge test
- Candidates need to prepare themselves with ballpoint pens, pencils and pocket
calculators.
- The second round will last for 150 minutes with 2 sections, 5 minutes of break
between the two sections. Candidates need to arrive approximately 10 minutes before
the exam time to stabilize their position and morale.
- In the knowledge test round, candidates will take 2 exams. The content of the exam
may be different from each position applied for in the VNG Fresher program.
Basically, there are 2 sections, Knowledge Test and English Test
Example: Knowledge Test for Game Design position include Logic, Mathematics and Literature
test
- The test includes Quiz and essay questions in the form of logical thinking, mathematical test,
test of professional knowledge and writing requirements of a thesis. According to a member of
the uit forum community, the first part of the test round is not too difficult, but long, requiring
candidates to have intelligent reasoning, sharp thinking, broad understanding, and a certain
understanding of professional knowledge.

3. Round 3: Interview

- Candidates who pass the previous qualification test will enter the interview round.
Candidates will have to go directly to the company head offices to take this round.
- The interview time limited for each candidate is about 1 hour
- And there are 2-3 interviewers in this round
- The candidates will receive the interview results: Up to 2 weeks after the interview.
- This round will be assessed based on two criteria: the candidate's communication
skills; and interview skills. In addition, candidates will also be evaluated based on
other factors that are equally important such as: Teamwork ability; problem solving
skills; time management skills,...
After receiving the interview results, the successful candidates will be officially employed
at VNG; have just directly embarked on a career; participated in VNG Fresher training
program; combine 3 factors: Study – Guide – Apply; confidently walk the chosen career
path.
Other programs have a similar selection process with VNG Fresher training program,
except Direct recruitment which has 3 rounds: Receipt of documents and capacity;
Interview and Offers.
