The maximum height is 300 mm and Width upto 500 mm, “expanded metals” is produced in various metals like Steel, Stainless steel, Copper, Brass, Aluminum, ACP ( Aluminum Composite panel) itanium and also polycarbonate with shapes like Hexagonal, Square, Diamond shape & Decorative Shapes. ‘expanded metal sizes are maximum thicknessis from The Expanded Metal is formed from a single piece of metal sheet without wastage Expanded Metal products are produced fram solid sheets of Aluminium, MS, SS, Copper, Brass, Titanium & Polycarbonate. In this process the sheet is simultaneously slit and stretched, expanding the slts into diamond & other shaped holes of uniform size, shape, regularity & giving perfect geometrical shape. No Wastage is produced in this process. This provides cost savings, especially compared to other metal processing methods. There is nothing to work loose, no fretting strands or strained joins or welds which makes expanded metals ideal for forming and beneficial to further processing such as pressing and shearing. The strength of mesh makes it valuable for use in multiple components. Higher strength-to-weight ratio than sheet metal Higher strength-to-weight ratio is the major advantage of the expanded metals providing stronger per kilogram and lighter per metre than the original sheet. This distance is also sometime referred to as “Pitch” SWM. LWM: LWM is the distance from a point on a knuckle to a corresponding point on the following knuckle measured across the long way of the diamond shaped hole, This distance is also sometime referred to as “Pitch” LWM. ‘SW: SW is the overall dimension of the expanded metal sheet measured in the same direction as the short way measure (SWM) LW: LW is the overall dimension of the expanded metal sheet measured in the same direction as the long way measure (LWM). Strand Width Knuckle Common Expanded Metal Terms Some of the simple and common terms used to describe expanded metal are briefly covered below. These terms are useful to know when choosing and ordering the product. Raised Expanded Metal Raised Expanded Metal Raised Expanded metal is the form the product takes when it goes through the expanding process described earlier. The strands and knuckles are set at a uniform angle to the plane ofthe sheet. This adds strength and rigidity, allows air circulation, and distributes the load ‘onthe metalto the supporting frames. No additional pressing operations are needed. PE eri Mc Flattened Expanded Metal Flattened expanded metal is manufactured by passing a raised metal sheet through an additional cold roll reducing mill process. By flattening the sheet the knuckles and strands are tumed down to produce a smooth and flat surface, reducing the overall thickness and ‘elongating the diamond pattem. Free Air Space Free air space is the preference of the viewable expanded sheet area that is space, as ‘opposed to metal material. Approximate values are provided in the product selection chart. Values for raised expanded metal vary from lowest value at normal incidence (i.e. when viewed with the sheet held at right angles to the line of vision) to the highest value at maximum incidence (i.e. when viewed with the sheet slanting so that the thickness of strand is parallel to the line of vision, thus presenting a greater free area).
