ICT application in Transportation and Communication

Introduction
Computers and computer technology have totally
changed the face of the world as we start the
twenty-first century. It would be hard to find one
corner of our society that has not been changed
dramatically by them. Computers and computer
technologies are more efficient, they save us
time, and they allow us to do things that we never
could have imagined. Just as computers are integrated throughout society, computers should
also be integrated into all spheres of our human endeavour. An understanding of the computer
as a tool requires an awareness of its component parts and an appreciation of what each part
may contribute as we attempt to use the computer as a tool to solve the problems we may
encounter. A user must be able to put data into a system, manipulate those data, and retrieve
information in an appropriate manner. As the technology for computers changes, so do the
people who use computers and the contexts in which they use them. No longer are building-
size computers used to crunch numbers for scientists and mathematicians. Now, more than
ever, computers are mobile, and information is accessible to many people. Adults and students
in a wide range of disciplines and with vastly different levels of expertise use computers for
thousands of professional, educational, and recreational applications.

They allow tourists to create itineraries “on the run” by
providing access to websites, apps and social media sites that
offer travel information, booking services and user recommendations. ICTs will allow greater
sharing of recommendations from travelers with similar characteristics, motives and
preferences.

Ict covers digital infrastracture such as printers,
computers, laptops, tablets, etc., to software tools such as
Google Meet, Google Spreadsheets, etc.these tools aid / help in the planning and management
process of the project and can be used by either the project manager or the project team and
also putting into consideration the management and the stakeholders of the project.

ICT-supported transportation services such as ride-
sharing result in better management of vehicles, routes,
and assets (higher load factor, more trips per vehicle, fewer vehicles for the same capacity,
etc.). Users can use an online platform to reserve an access time slot to the facility, improving
the efficiency of both the terminal and the vehicle assets. And through ict it shares your modes

Through the use of ict supported technologies, people often
works at a distance or online. Managers seek job opportunities in
the social media in which people grabs that opportunity even if it
is far or at a ditance. This ict will serve as a platform for people to seek jobs and to work at a
distance through the use of media.

Technology that boosts productivity ultimately reduces
costs while improving services. Sensor devices,
tracking software, and barcoding technology reduce the
need for human intervention and accentuate the role of information technology throughout the

and help logistics managers make decisions that lead to effective cost-reduction strategies.

can speed up transportation and improve service levels

Our nation revolves around with so many technologies which greatly affect our ways of living
both positive and negative impact. ICT is a very broad that it really helps many of us in various
ways most especially in the area of communication. Here are some of the examples on how
