If you were Jose Rizal and was given the chance to be a guest of the Real Audiencia de Manila and of

Gov. Gen. Rafael Izquierdo, which of the two (2) lawyers provided a better argument: Jose Montero y
Vidal (a pro-Spaniard) or Dr. Trinidad Pardo de Tavera (pro-indio)?

If I were Rizal that has given an opportunity on Real Audiencia de Manila I will be able to choose Dr.
Trinidad Pardo de Tavera. Because Dr. Triniad Pardo provided a much better argument. In his point of
view, the incident was a mere mutiny by the native Filipino soldiers and laborers of the Cavite arsenal
who turned out to be dissatisfied with the abolition of their privileges. Indirectly, Tavera blamed Gov.
Izquierdo's cold-blooded policies just like the abolition of privileges of the workers and native army
members of the arsenal. Tavera also believed that the Spanish friars and Izquierdo just used the Cavite
Mutiny as a strong lever by magnifying it as a full-blown conspiracy involving not only the native army but
also included residents of Cavite and Manila, and more importantly the native clergy to overthrow the
Spanish government within the Philippines.

If you were the lawyer who presided the case of the land dispute in Calamba, will you side to the
Dominicans who have done you favors to keep your position, or to your fellow townsfolk who
demand an explanation as to why the Dominicans were keeping secrets to them regarding taxes and
land ownership? Justify your answer.

If I were the lawyer who is handling this case, I will side with my fellow townsfolk who demand an
explanation as to why Dominicans were keeping secrets from them regarding taxes and land ownership.
Although based on my research about Dominican, they also have done a lot of favors for my fellow, but
this is not a valid reason because my fellow townsfolk require an honest and justice explanation on. We
are all aware that there are too many people struggling and being poor because of the corrupt
government and think it is not fair to side with Dominicans just because they have done favors to others
and as a lawyer, will light for what is right.

If you were to become one (1) of the liberal Governor-Generals in Spain, choose one (1) social
condition that was present in the country and provide a solution to mitigate, if not eliminate, the
problem. Justify your answer.

Answer: The Spanish regime within the Philippines has not been treated right is Corruption. Corruption is
as old as history itself. within the Philippines. it appears to possess started historically during the Spanish
colonial period. Taxes during the Spanish period was compulsory, Filipinos were to pay taxes as
recognition of Spain is sovereignty over the Colonies and to defray the expenses of pacification and
governance. This social condition is you see until now in our government and that I think there is no
solution un there is an opportunist who runs the govt. Fighting corruption looks like playing a game of
Whac-A-Mole. As soon as one corrupt vanquished, more corrupt will pop up in its place it is like an
unending social problem in our society.
