Sprinting technique and program

 This book will discuss, in detail, 11 Olympic Sprinter Running Mechanics

(OSRM).
 By the way, Visualization is OSRM #1.
 Visualization is not a physically executed running mechanic.
 Scientifically, we know that the same nerves are activated when visualizing
a movement as when physically performing that movement.
 visualize sprinting techniques before physically performing them.
 Step #1 requires a focused effort on your part. Simply reading about these
techniques one time is not going to magically implant them into your
neuromuscular system. Step #2 is to practice the techniques. Olympic
sprinters practice these techniques year-round, day in, day out. As a result,
their bodies perform the movements subconsciously.
 You definitely don’t want to be thinking about these techniques when it’s
game time or 40 testing time. Thinking tightens the body, which slows you
down.
 The 40 yard dash consists of three primary phases. Those three phases are:
1. 3-Point Stance Phase 2. Drive Phase 3. Upright Running Phase

 THE THREE POINT STANCE PHASE( 3 OSMR’S)

 Unlike other phases this can be performed at homehome. Simply make a

line out of tape, a ruler, or use a preexisting line in the carpeting or floor.
 DRIVE PHASE( 4 OSMR’S)
 What removes you from the novice category is a period of time, at least
two years, dedicated to improving your skill, thereby maximizing your
personal window of potential.
 Take your time to completely perform the triple extension rather than
going with fast choppy legs while sprinting
 UPRIGHT RUNNING PHASE( 3 OSMR’S)
 THE SUMMARY OF ALL THREE PHASES
 Your mindset will determine whether you are successful in achieving faster
speeds in the 40 yard dash. Actually, your mindset will determine the entire
trajectory of your athletic career as well as your entire life.
 “For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to
the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (from Matthew
7:8). Constantly improve.
 the Growth Mindset. It refers to an attitude that says, “Where I’m at now is
only the beginning. As I learn and practice, I’ll constantly improve. With
 there’s no such thing as being dumb; there is only learning new study-
methods in order to better learn new concepts.
 When you sit down and focus on a subject, your brain builds stronger
neural pathways. This means that the subject becomes more and more
second nature to you.
