1.-SALUDOS

(Normalmente se utiliza entre el medio día y las 5-6 de la tarde)

(Cualquier hora después de las 6 de la tarde)

2.-CONVERSACIONES

Are you having a good day?----------- How is your day going?

I’m sorry, I don’t understand.

Could you please repeat that?---- Could you please explain that?

I’m sorry, I didn’t hear that. Could you please repeat?

3.- PREGUNTAS

PREGUNTAS DE SI/NO : Para cambiar una oración a una

pregunta, simplemente movemos el verbo al principio. Si la oración tiene
un verbo auxiliar o modal, ese es el que tienes que mover.

It is windy today.---- Is it windy today?

She is sad. → Is she sad?

He can bake. → Can he bake?

ATENCION: Si la oración no tiene verbo auxiliar y el verbo principal

no es el verbo “to be”, la cosa cambia. Tendrás que poner “do” o “does” al
principio de cada pregunta. Asegúrate de utilizar el tiempo verbal y la
forma correcta, por ejemplo, “did” si la oración está en pasado.

Nina plays the violin. → Does Nina play the violin? Nina toca el violin?

Nina played the violin. → Did Nina play the violin? Nina tocaba el

violin?

PREGUNTAS CON W/H (How).. ejemplos:

Who is playing basketball in the park?

What is Nathan playing in the park?

Where is Nathan playing basketball?

PREGUNTAS INDIRECTAS

Hay una manera en la que puedes sonar más educado y amable. Utiliza
una interrogativa indirecta. Es fácil: simplemente añade una oración
como “Could you please tell me…” (Por favor, ¿podría decirme…?”) o
“Do you know…” (“¿Sabe…?”) antes de la pregunta directa.

Could you please tell me where the bookstore is?

Do you know where the bookstore is?

PREGUNTAS CON Tag Question

It is raining now. → It is raining now, isn’t it?
Está lloviendo ahora. → Está lloviendo ahora, ¿no?

The students are visiting the museum. → The students are visiting the

museum, aren’t they?

Cuando no hay un verbo auxiliar, utiliza la forma del verbo “do” para
formar la question tag.

Adam walks to class on Tuesdays, doesn’t he?
