UNIT 4 ACTIVITY
ACTIVITY 1

I. IDENTIFICATION
1. Everything that surrounds us. It includes the natural world as well as the things
produced by humans.
2. The study of how living things interact and depend on each other.
3. The symbiotic relationship between organisms and species within one particular
area in which each depends on each other to support the continuance of life. It is
composed of the living and non-living components. Ecosystems are found in the
various sections of the natural environment which include: forests, deserts,
grasslands, freshwater, marine areas, and even caves.
4. The practice of protecting the natural environment on individual, organization
controlled or governmental levels, for the benefit of both the environment and
humans.
5. The ideology that focuses on the importance of natural resources. It advocated
the need for man to live in harmony with nature to prevent the life-sustaining
environment it encourages individuals to change the lifestyle that I disruptive of
the natural functioning of mother nature and to adopt programs and measures
for protecting the environment and pursue a development program that is
sustainable and environmentally friendly.
6. The destruction of environment.

9. The outbreak of diseases involving a large volume of the population in a certain
area. This unfortunate event may occur from lack of clean water, lack of or
inadequate health services, and the lack of awareness in preventing diseases.
10. This is a condition in which the soil dries up, commonly caused by intense heat
and the absence of rainfall. Drought makes it difficult for the soil to support the
plants and other living organisms that depend on it.

ACTIVITY2
1. Research and make a brief discussion on how are you going to prevent other common causes of
disaster which are not thoroughly discuss on this chapter.
