THE SACRIFICE

I admire students who can sacrifice everything for the sake of their studies. I feel
so inspired and motivated every time I see students who are able to get very high grades
in all their subjects despite their big responsibility which is to pay off their tuition fees and
sometimes other essential needs through working in a variety of ways just to achieve
their ultimate goal in life which is to finish their studies.

Have you ever experienced how difficult is their responsibility? What they are
giving up just to finish a 100 or 200 hours of duty? Can you imagine how hard to balance
time especially during examinations? Well that’s the truth that many people unfortunately
do not really understand especially when it comes to interpreting the true meaning of the
word sacrifice. Sacrifice is the act of depriving oneself of something for the sake of
attaining some goal which is closely related to what these students are doing to supply
their needs especially education.

Nothing is impossible to those who have the eagerness to achieve their goals in
life. All hardships can be overcome by having a strong faith in the Lord as well as having
patience, perseverance and self discipline which are should be possessed by an
individual.

I now understand the true meaning of sacrifice. I planned to be a JEP scholar but
I declined the opportunity because of worries and poor self confidence. Now as I eagerly
look at things that I must do, I am willing to take all the opportunities that might come on
my way in pursuit of my dreams and goals. To accept all the chances that I might have
in the future and to do all my best that I can to attain my goals, for me is the true
meaning of the word – sacrifice.
