Theme: Progress through Imagination
A Forest grown from Imaginary Seeds

Quite often, the reality of the things we indulge today, the means of how we get
through our days, are forgotten at the fact that this came from the centuries worth of
progress, by people who sought to innovate. They have the best intentions for
everyone, to understand better of the world and to give the people the opportunity to live
conveniently. But sometimes, they can be treated differently at first, and some had their
reasonable explanations. Thoughts of innovation can look rough and Imaginations goes
from a long way; They can be very nonsensical, they can be practical, they can feel like
pure fiction when heard word by word. The vision of what they will become to be are
hard to imagine. So, with effort and determination to prove their imagination, they
succeed and create something bit by bit that becomes big and real, for everyone to
finally see what their vision is. Being able to see others through long distances, traveling
long distances in mere minutes, from telephone to smartphones and carriages to
vehicles and aircrafts. Even forms of entertainment such as theaters that transformed to
captured films that can be replayed numerous times without the need of physical
presence of the stage and the actors. All these I’ve said were once views of wonders
and what-ifs. They’ve slowly grown into what we see today, they have placed their
seeds of imagination and let others nurse it into a tree of reality. From tree to tree, they
have made an intertwined forest that supported each of their dreams and ambitions, all
lush of green, and it’s all so real and majestic.

Everything around us has the influence of numerous, hundreds, and even

thousands of individuals that gave their imagination to the world, shaping it to what it is
today. I am sure that it is a gratitude that their imagination is used to help with the tasks
we have today. We use them in their intended ways, and some are often used in
unconventional methods. We get through by using even the bits of imagination from
others that lives with us. The language we speak, the music we listen, and the forms of
crafts that are seen and read. All of these, all so similar and yet a leaf, a branch, and a
tree of its own. Each of us has our own dreams, own creations, own ideas, and own
ideals. Don’t we all have a tree that we nurse? But some nurse a plant that stings, that
does not aid the forest but feeds from it. Here comes the dangerous creations of
imagination, proven that mind can be twisted and hurtful. Progress through the use of
imagination can lead to destructive creations, it’s not all good. But progress is still
progress. You discovered something new, something powerful! But does the forest
benefit from it? Nuclear bombs and cigarettes to name a few. These do nothing but
harm and destroy, and yet they still stand and continue to exist in our world.
Be mindful of what you grow, be certain that your imagination will not harm
others. We reside in the same forest, do we not? What we see around us are planted by
the past for us to partake, is it not? We should do the same and grow healthy trees that
contribute to our ecosystem. Because in realization, all trees live, grow and ultimately,
die. If we do not nurse any trees at all, will there be a forest for tomorrow’s sake?
Inventions are imaginations, ideas are imaginations, culture and technology are
imaginations, everything everyone has built up to this day is a product of the seeds of
imagination. Just look at how vast the forest has become! And every tree that you see,
will eventually die. Ideas die out, inventions become unused, traditions forgotten, and
technology outdated.
This is where seeds shine. They give the past trees an opportunity into giving the
birthing plant the imagination they once had. Seeds will take themselves to new lands
and grow forth. Their imagination relives once again! But oh wait, something is amiss.
The sapling looks nothing like its predecessor. Seeds do grow to become the same as
the old trees, but saplings adapt to their environment. Time changes everything, and to
survive for each passing time we all progress to reach the light of tomorrow, a state that
we can live conveniently and comfortably. We’ve all taken a seed and we’re not just
nursing our trees today. We’re also giving our imagination, for others to nurse it and see
it anew. So just like the people who gave our seeds and nurtured it as the trees we’ve
cared today, we will give our own seeds. So be mindful of what you grow, be certain
that the seeds of imagination you gift are good.
The creations to improve. Ideas to form new ones. What sort of imagination can
you nurse for yourself and give to others? Because soon all seeds and saplings will
gather together to form a new forest that will be there for the generations of tomorrow.
