Defining Popular Culture
Defining Popular Culture
1. Authentic Culture
I believe that authentic culture is the view of a book or other sources about a certain culture. It is
derived from what has been studied, not conjecture, but there is evidence gathered before this
culture became true.
2. Culture
I believe culture is a language of values and norms used to distinguish one group of people from
another.
3. Cultural Analysis
I believe it examines a group of people based on their language, beliefs, norms, and so on, as well
as seeks to understand others' perspectives on how or what we think about that specific group.
4. False Consciousness
I do believe that false consciousness is the case in which an individual or group willfully
participates in their own opportunity, even if it is unjust in society. You are willing to participate
because you think it's right.
5. Hegemony
6. High Culture
I believe high culture is the culture of the upper class. I think they are the superior people
in that group.
7. Ideology
A system of ideas that unconsciously shapes and constrains both our beliefs and
behaviors, it is our perspective towards other culture.
8. Ideological Forms
I believe that ideological form is a system of ideas and ideals about a certain culture, you
know, its origin, the name of its group, etc. It's like you have a systematic body of
concepts, especially about culture.
9. Mass Culture
I believe that mass culture is the way they promote their culture to everybody. They want
to show their belief to others by using media platforms.
11. Myth
A myth, in my opinion, is a story that is repeatedly told and serves to explain why
something is the way it is.
12. Popular Culture
I believe that the practices, beliefs, and materials that embody a particular society define
popular culture. Like the materials or the way, they make their dresses.
13. Practice
Practice, in my opinion, is the act of performing something repeatedly in order to learn or
improve one's beliefs.
14. Professional Ideology
I believe that professional ideology is the ideology and work habits that reflect who they
are. It's either their behavior or characteristics as a professional.
I think a person’s, or a group of people's habits, traditions, and beliefs can be referred to
as their "way of life.
