Bug Bounty Hunters Extension Guidelines

Goal: In this HIT App, you will be presented with a Bing search result page. Your task will be to judge the
presentation of the part of the page that is highlighted in a red box, taking into account the query.

Prerequisite: Install the UHRS browser extension.

Note: Please disable any ad blocking programs before proceeding.

Important: Scroll to view the entire section, interact with the site, and ensure that all links work as intended
and lead to the correct websites.

You must take a screenshot for each judgment.

If there is an issue, take a screenshot of the issue; if there is no issue, take a screenshot of the highlighted
area; and if there is no red bounding box, take a screenshot of the entire page.

Please note that if we discover you are not following these requirements, you will be banned from all Bug
Bounty Hunter Extension HIT Apps.

Workflow:
Instructions:

1. Getting started
• Click on the ‘Start’ button to get started with the HIT App.
o You will be navigated to a live page on a separate tab in your browser.
• Click on the UHRS extension logo (circled in green in the image below) in your browser toolbar:

o Note: You may need to click on the Extensions icon (shaped like a puzzle piece) and click the
eye icon next to UHRS Extension (in Edge) or the pin icon (in Chrome) to make the Extension
visible in your toolbar

• The HIT App will pop up as an extension on the webpage.

• You will make your judgment by answering the question ‘Do you observe any issues on the page’:

• If no area on the page is highlighted by a red rectangle, select “No Answer Highlighted” and click
the ‘Capture screenshot’ button at the top to take a screenshot of the page. Please allow the page
to load fully before selecting this option.
o If no answer is highlighted, but you do see an issue on the page, we would be grateful if you
report it.
2. Check the webpage for issues within the red box
• If any of the following features exist in the highlighted section, you must:
o Scroll down, or to the right to see additional content
o Click plus signs to expand content
o Click through to at least two links or videos to make sure they load correctly
o Click on different subsections
o Interact with any other notable features in the highlighted section

Look for any of the following issues that you can find in the part of the page enclosed in a red box (please
do not judge any part of the page outside of the red box)

• Broken/bad/duplicate/wrong images or videos

This includes any image- or video-related issues, including:
o Images or videos which are missing, do not load, are shown distorted, are placeholders, are
improperly cropped, or are images of the wrong subject
Note that the following should not be reported as issues:
o Images that are too small to see details – Note: Do not report small images as blurry
o Images that appear duplicated, but are in different sections of the answer
o Images that are clipped/cut by the highlighted red box
o Duplicate images of products for sale, when each listing has a difference price or description or is
from a different seller or website

Examples of this issue:

Not an issue:
• Garbled/bad/duplicate/wrong text
Text which is garbled, not human readable, incorrectly duplicated, or unintelligible
o This includes error messages, but does not include text like "We would like to show you a
description here, but the site won’t allow us"
o If the title of a section is identical to its description, this counts as bad text
Note that the following should not be reported as issues:
o Punctuation or capitalization issues
o Images or texts that are repeated in different sections
o Ellipsis (…) in the middle or end of a paragraph
o Improperly truncated words
o Phonetic text

Examples of this issue

Not an issue:
• Broken UI, features, or links
The user interface, features on the page, or links are broken or unworkable (an example is an
image overlapping text)
o Examples include text and image improperly overlapping, improperly aligned images, buttons
or filters that do not work or that lead to the wrong content, links that lead to the wrong
content, links that lead to a broken page or to the wrong page, etc.
o Only for prominent (top of the page, topmost on right rail) answers, check if the link works

Examples of this issue

• Offensive/adult/malicious text, images, and videos
Images or text containing offensive, racist, or insulting content, or fake news, that promote
conspiracy theories, and answers showing illegal or adult web results
Examples of this issue

Not an issue
• Unexpected market/language
Only select this option if none of the above issues exist and the language or market of the webpage
is different from that of the query
o No matter the HIT App language, English should never be considered an out-of-market
language
o Titles/Names displayed in their original language (example: Anime Akira displayed in Japanese
kanji) should not be marked as wrong language

Examples of this issue

Not an issue
• Other issues
Anything which doesn’t fall into any of the above categories, but which is still an issue for the user
o This only includes issues that are not related to text, image, or links
o Check the examples below to see issues like missing number of reviews, missing sections, etc.

Examples of this issue

• If you did not find an issue, select No and click the ‘Capture screenshot’ button at the top to take a
screenshot of the area bounded by the red rectangle.

3. If you did find an issue, select the issue you observed

• After checking links, sidescroll options, videos, etc, select the issue you observed
• Select at least one issue from the list:
4. Finalizing your judgment
• Write a comment in the ‘Explain what is broken’ text box to add details about the issue
o Good comments do not need to be long but do need to describe the exact error and its
location on the page.

multiple screenshots. Use the ‘Markup Screenshot’ button to mark the issue area in the
screenshot.

Click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete your judgment
