ACTIVITY #7

1. Do you watch teleseryes?

- These days, I don’t watch teleseryes anymore, but before, I do watch teleserye from ABS-
CBN only.

2. If yes, why do you watch teleserye? If no, why not?

- Honestly, I don’t really watch teleserye because I find it boring and it takes too long to finish
the story. Not like when you watch a movie, you will already know the ending in just 2 hours
depending on the movie you watched. Also, I’m not a fan of a drama shows and I prefer to
watch an action shows more. Before, I watched a lot of teleseryes like Annaliza, May Bukas
Pa, 100 Days to Heaven, etc. because those kinds of teleseryes give an important life lesson
that is why I enjoyed watching it before.

3. How did you feel about watching the first three episode of Honesto? What emotions are
generated? Is it a single emotion all throughout? Are there alternating emotions or would you
say it is a range of emotions?
- First of all, I felt old watching the first three episode of Honesto because there are some
scenes that I can still remember and it’s been 8 years since Honesto was released. Watching
Honesto again feels different compared to before. I can now fully understand the first three
parts of the story. I was amazed on how Sitio Katapatan people really value each other and
how they applied honesty in their everyday living. The people of Sitio Katapatan really do
trust each other that they don’t need to safeguard their earnings or money. For them, the
sole symbol of wealth is honesty and principle and those two things are the only things that
matter for them. While watching the first episode, I was happy to see that they are just
living a simple life but at the same time, I felt sorry too because they are not aware of what
is really happening in the world. They have no idea what is going on outside of the Sitio
Katapatan because they are not exposed to the outside world. When the part where Fina
left the Sitio Katapatan and go to the place where Diego is, I felt a lot of emotions like fear,
sadness, and anger for her because she would’ve been alive if she just listen to her father
and also, she still has time to be with and be able to complete her family.

4. Do you think these are the same emotions generated in other people?
- I think it depends to the person because all of us have different opinions and perspective in
life. I think I react differently compared to the other people. There were some scenes that I
end up laughing because the acting of the actors was funny. There were also some scenes
that are unrealistic that’s why I end up laughing at it too but, most of the time I’m more
worried about what will happen to the people of Sitio Katapatan after they met those three
bad guys.
5. Push yourself to reflect: What is it about you and your identity that generated these emotions?
- By just watching these three episodes, I generated a lot of emotions just like happiness,
sadness, fear, and anger. I formed these emotions because I’m Kizzy also known as Kizafire.
Kizafire is simple and a kind-hearted person. I smile a lot and I just love myself so much. I
always have a positive mindset in everything I do and if I’m facing a problem all I do is face it
with full of positivity. I’m also a cheerful person and I also cheer other people by giving
corny jokes. When I feel down or sad, I always cheer myself by eating chocolates because I
really love chocolates. I’m the kind of person who can’t say no to a friend’s request but, as
time goes on I have learned to refuse some of their requests because they are quite abusive
and that’s why I generated these emotions.

6. Are there characters you identify with? Who are they and why do you think you can identify
with them?
- I have identified three characters in the first three episode of Honesto. They were Hugo,
Cleto, Diego, Fina, and Felipe. The very first character that really stuck in my head was Hugo
because he was the reason why people of Sitio Katapatan want to leave their homes and he
planned to steal the hidden treasures of Sitio Katapatan. He’s the type of person that will do
everything even he will commit a crime just to save his family from poverty. Then, Cleto was
bullied and belittled before by other kids and Hugo was there to save him from them.
Starting that day, they became partners in crime. The next is Diego, because after he met
Fina, he was willing to change for the better just for her. Diego was also the son of Hugo and
he was always there by his father’s side whenever they will do something terrible. Next is
Fina, she was the daughter of Mang Felipe and the mother of Honesto. She’s the one who
changed Diego for the better. Lastly, Felipe or Mang Felipe was the father of Fina and the
one who acts as a leader in Sitio Katapatan. Mang Felipe and other people that were related
to him have an allergy; if they lie their nose grows bigger.

7. Push yourself further: What is it about you and your identity that generated identification with
these characters?
- By focusing on the characters that are present on the first three episode of Honesto, I
somehow connected with them. There’s a character here that is willing to do bad things for
the people who are important to him and we’re kind of the same because I sometimes lie to
protect someone’s reputation or do white lies. There’s also a character that is very honest
and I can relate with them because when I have problems or something is bothering me I
will tell it to someone who is close to me like my parents. I really can’t lie to them because
they will still know the truth and I don’t want them to get mad or be worried about me.
Lastly, there’s a character on the first three episodes that is willing to change for someone
and I also can relate to that character because I have a friend that I think I influenced that
person to change for her own good. Someone told me to stay away from someone who
might give you a bad influence but, I still stick with that person and instead of influencing
me, I think I influence her to be good.
