CONCLUSION and RECO
This paper looked at the effects of using guided writing to improve the writing ability in
English of the Grade 8 BEC students. This shows that the respondents' ability or skills in English
writing is below the average point that is set by the learners. However, after the intervention and
application of guided writing, the respondent’s scores have greatly increased and yielded good
results or positive consequences. The findings certainly shows that the involvement of guiding
the students in writing English is a prerequisite, it is a tool and a way that helps the students’
competence in writing in the English language while also learning new vocabularies and
improving their grammar.
The students struggle with a variety of issues when it comes to composing a paragraph.
This study used a pre-test to demonstrate how the students performed, and a post-test to
demonstrate how their performance had improved. It thoroughly demonstrated the effectiveness
of using guided writing and intervention to enhance students' writing proficiency of the grade 8
respondents. The students' writing, including their punctuation, grammar, and use of coherent
techniques developed because of this intervention and guided writing. Furthermore, learners do
need to improve this skill as it will help them in much demanding challenges that is yet to come.
And improving this ability in writing, both the learner and the teacher should help each other to
successfully help and develop the skills in writing in the English language.
RECOMMENDATIONS
This study revealed that the guided writing has a positive effect in the improvement of the writing
competency of the students. Since guided writing greatly increases students’ capability towards the
writing in the English language, these strategies for teachers and students can be followed
Put more focus on improving the learner’s grammar through different techniques.
Give more attention to teaching the use of coherent devices and punctuation marks.
Creating a constant communication between teachers and students using the English language
to master the language.
Recommendation for further studies
Since this study showed that guided writing is effective in improving the students’ writing
competence and it identified problems in terms of the students’ skills, the researchers suggest for future
researcher to focus on identifying strategies on how to conduct guided writing more effectively and a lot
a longer during of implementing the intervention.
