ACTIVITY 1
Some people’s perspective is, when you are a child, you do not have the power to be free, you have to
always listen to your parents, elders and family. Children are given rights to be able to grow and learn.
They have the rights to be heard, to be educated, to be treated fairly, to a childhood, and the right to be
healthy. This is a good idea, so every child will experience childhood that they deserve. This will give
society benefits, like girls or women wouldn’t be able to just abandon their child or children due to the
fact that they have rights, especially the rights to live. This will give children the courage to defend
themselves if they are abused or forced to work on an early age. We all should have a family planning,
and to be careful in sexual interaction.

1. What rights should a child have and why?

All children shall be entitled to the rights herein set forth without distinction as to legitimacy or
illegitimacy, sex, social status, religion, political antecedents, and other factors.

1. Every child is endowed with the dignity and worth of a human being from the moment of his
conception, as generally accepted in medical parlance, and has, therefore, the right to be born well.

2. Every child has the right to a wholesome family life that will provide him/her with love, care and
understanding, guidance and counseling, and moral and material security.

3. Every child has the right to a well-rounded development of his personality to the end that he may
become a happy, useful and active member of society.

4. Every child has the right to a balanced diet, adequate clothing, sufficient shelter, proper medical
attention, and all the basic physical requirements of a healthy and vigorous life

5. Every child has the right to be brought up in an atmosphere of morality and rectitude for the
enrichment and the strengthening of his character.

6. Every child has the right to an education commensurate with his abilities and to the development of
his skills for the improvement of his capacity for service to himself and to his fellowmen.

7. Every child has the right to full opportunities for safe and wholesome recreation and activities,
individual as well as social, for the wholesome use of his leisure hours.

8. Every child has the right to protection against exploitation, improper influences, hazards, and other
conditions or circumstances prejudicial to his physical, mental, emotional, social and moral
development.

9. Every child has the right to live in a community and a society that can offer him and environment free
from pernicious influences and conducive to the promotion of his health and the cultivation of his
desirable traits and attributes.
10.Every child has the right to the care, assistance, and protection of the State, particularly when his
parents or guardians fail or are unable to provide him with his fundamental needs for growth,
development, and improvement.

11.Every child has the right to an efficient and honest government that will deepen his faith in
democracy and inspire him with the morality of the constituted authorities both in their public and
private lives.

12. Every child has the right to grow up as a free individual, in an atmosphere of peace, understanding,
tolerance, and universal brotherhood, and with the determination to contribute his share in the building
of a better world.

The rights of the children are specific rights to protect all young people under 18. Children are entitled
to these rights to protect their more vulnerable position in society and to give their position special
attention. It sets out the rights that must be realized for every child, the rights to survival, development,
protection, and participation. It offers a vision of the child as an individual and as a member of a family
and community, with rights and responsibilities appropriate to his or her age and stage of development.

2. How can we protect children’s rights

We give a voice to future generations and provide policy tools to empower millions of people. We also can
protect it by following it and giving punishment to those who will disobey the children’s rights.

3. How are children’s rights violated?

This includes physical and psychological violence, sexual violence, bullying, exploitation, and violence in
the internet. Violence seriously harms children physically and psychologically, hampers their
development, and violates their right to protection.

1. Make one slogan based on the rights of children and young persons and give your explanation.

NO CHILD SHOULD BE WITHOUT RIGHTS

All children have rights, no matter who they are, where they live, what language they speak, what their
religion is, what they think, what they look like, if they are a boy or girl, if they have a disability, if they
are rich or poor, and no matter who their parents or families are or what their parents or families
believe or do. No child should be treated unfairly for any reason. No child should be without rights.
