Introduction
 Construction is a process that consists of the building or
assembling of infrastructure. Far from being a single activity,
large scale construction is a feat of multitasking. Normally the
job is managed by the project manager and supervised by the
design engineer and construction engineer or project architect.
 For the successful execution of a project, effective planning is
essential. Those involved with the design and execution of the
infrastructure in question must consider the environmental
impact of the job, the successful scheduling, budgeting, site
safety, availability of materials, inconvenience to the public
caused by construction delays,

The construction methods such as masonry (building with
individual stones or bricks held together by mortar),
unreinforced concrete and rammed-earth blocks
(building blocks made of compressed earth), can be
used independently or in conjunction with frames to
build homes.
Based on the materials used in building construction, we
have the following construction methods:

Construction methods/techniques
• Most buildings (both residential and commercial) are built
around a frame that provides the structure and support for
the building. Based on the framing of building, we have two
methods: heavy framing and light framing.
• Heavy framing is technique where heavy steel and
reinforced concrete framing that are normally seen in
skyscrapers and other large commercial buildings is used.
• Light framing is typically done using timber or light-gauge
steel, with the building’s structural skeleton of wood or
steel components assembled piece by piece. Light framing
is used in the majority of residential buildings.
Masonry Construction method
• There are home construction methods. Masonry,
either with brick, stone or concrete, was
traditionally used as a stand-alone construction
method, but today is most often used in
construction jointly with a wood frame. Rammed
earth construction uses layers of compressed earth
blocks to form the structure of a home.
