Sonnet 43 Analysis

In this poem, the stylistic choice is one that is telling that the writer is asking its lover that how
she shall love him. The effect comes in telling that the poem is dedicated to her lover and that
she is starting with a tone of sureness to know her lover’s perspective if she is loving right or
not.
The writer uses a lot of conjunctions as well. It is mostly “and” plus it tells that there are never
ending qualities for her love and that his qualities will keep going no matter what. This was just
a big view for the audience to know what the writer’s lover is like and how much more levels is
the lover going till. There is personification here as well because of the writer saying depth,
breath, and height. This is mainly related to humans as the writer is conveying her love to
someone special and that it is over the border line (powerful love). With that it is even telling
that her love is taller, longer, and over everything. That is generally called infinite which is never
ending.
The sentence mood here really expresses that the writer wants to tell the audience a lot about
her love and want to express it by powerful words. She wants to count in many ways and that is
what the poem is all about. There are many ways she has expressed her love and furthermore
even explained why she loves. This is onomatopoeia because the writer is TELLING us than
asking us. This gives a literary effect as she is excited in the starting to tell about her love.
The writer even tells that she can love whenever she wants and that it’s depended on her
decision that she chose a right lover because men strived for right and for women at that time
of the poem and here a woman is freely loving a man. Men strive for doing the right things and
actually sustaining their wives or someone they are in a relationship with in which they need to
work hard but the poet is conveying her message and telling she would do anything and the
only thing the husband has to do is to convey love.
There is a concept of God here as well. The poet is asking for God’s help and that if God can
support her in spreading all this love for her husband. Not only that but she is even asking God
if she can love her husband freely with all the will he has gotten to.
The poet refers to “I love thee” many times in the poem. It is tell different things and different
events that makes the poet think about her lover which is her husband. She wants to con vey to
him her message and actually tell why and because of what she is conveying her love to a man
that is thankfully her husband. The poet is even actually showing that her husband is very just
and striving was a big part of it. In line eight, it is even told that she used alliterations to use
purely and praise that connect in different ways but don’t actually mean the same thing.
The nature of love in this poem briefly tells that Browning is going to live with her husband for a
long time even if she dies. She is using is specific rhythm that is basically connecting to her own
emotions that are expressed while the poet spends time with her husband. It’s an easy saying
that the poem shows a natural bond of strong relationship which has no way to break or
replenish.
Finally, her love for her husband is not only in one way eternal, but even that if she dies or
passes away she will still love her husband and even more than she does presently. The tone
here tells that the poet is even ready to give her life up just for love.
