Using the Design Center


In this exercise you will use the Autodesk
Design Center to bring CAD content such as
blocks and linetypes into your current drawing.

Then you will use the search option to bring a


hatch pattern into your current drawing as well.

Learning objectives:

• Work with the Design Center

The Design Center in AutoCAD

1. Start a new drawing using the default


template in AutoCAD.

2. Open the Design Center. Browse to
where you stored the Design Center
exercise files. Expand the Civil.dwt
template file, as shown in Figure 2.

3. Bring the Barscale block into the


drawing.

4. Bring 5 linetypes into the drawing. Use
the search option to find the
Roofing_SpanishTile.pat file.

5. Create a small, closed polyline to add


the hatch pattern to, as shown in
Figure 5.
