 Submission is only available through the LMS (Course Web).


 Answers may be handwritten or typed.
 Please limit your submission to a maximum of 12 A4 pages, with suitable margins and
a suitable font of size 11.
 Your submission should contain a cover sheet containing your name, student number,
module code, module name and title of the submission.
 It should also contain a signed declaration to say that it is your own work.
 The document must be submitted as a single pdf file.
 Name your file ENXXXXXXXX_Lab1.pdf where ENXXXXXXXX is your student
number.
 Marks will be awarded to clear, concise answers.
 Cite any sources of information you use in a list of references.

LABORATORY 1: Half Wave and Full Wave Rectification

1. Half Wave Rectification

1.1. Construct the circuit given in Figure 1.

1.2. Observe the output voltage and sketch it.


1.3. Connect a capacitor in parallel to the load (R2) as shown in figure 2.

1.4. Observe and sketch the output voltage, comment on the reasons for the differences you noticed
in the output voltages.
1.5. Connect an inductor to the circuit as shown in figure 3.

2. Full Wave Rectification

2.1. Construct the circuit in figure 4.
