Dear Sir,

Greetings!
The Northern Mindanao Medical Center COVID-19 Satellite Laboratory would like to inform your
good office regarding our brand of preference on the extraction and detection kits utilized in our
molecular laboratory.
These are the following brands of extraction and detection kits used in the laboratory:
1. Genolution Extraction Kit NX-48s
2. Sansure detection Kit
We prefer the Genolution Extraction Kit NX-48s since the DNA/ RNA extraction procedure is
operated in a closed system (Genolution Nextractor) which requires this complementary kit for it
to be functional. Additionally, one of our PCR Machines, Sansure MA-6000 is solely compatible
with Sansure Detection Kit thus it is necessary to procure the aforementioned reagent.
In as much as we want to request for procurement of these brands, our molecular laboratory will
cease to operate on January 2023 in accordance with the Department Memorandum No.
2021,029-B entitled “Further Amendment to Department Memorandum No. 2021-0296 on
Guidelines on Testing for Tuberculosis (TB) and Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) for
Laboratories within the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP) Laboratory Network”.
This department memorandum shall in effect lead the cessation of our COVID-19 operation
since our facility is co-shared with Northern Mindanao TB Reference Center.
