I. Course Overview:

Every business is influenced by environment and therefore businessman shall have


good understanding of various factors relating to environment. Environment includes
legal environment. It helps them to decide, to achieve goal, to grow and to compete in
the dynamic world. Understanding the legal structures within India is extremely
important for any entrepreneur or businessman to effectively manage their
organisation. Laws that define and govern businesses and corporations are explained in
this course. Businesses rely on contracts every day, and this course introduces business
students to fundamentals of how contracts are structured what constitutes a default,
how contracts are enforced and what legal remedies might be available also might be
covered.
The course will discuss various legislations like Companies Act 2013, Negotiable
Instrument Act, Factories Act, Consumer Protection Act, Cyber regulations, rules
pertaining to foreign exchange transactions and their applicability, Rules and
regulations applicable to business in general and MSMEs in particular.

II. Course Learning Outcomes


After completing the course, students would be able to:
1. relate the implications of laws to business
