I totally enjoyed my time studying for the PhD at the HRM department. I found the staff to be friendly, highly supportive and professional. The academic staff gave productive advise and took due care in supervising and guiding my work. The administrative staff also made sure that any facilities or equipment I needed were made available. It was a pleasure to have spent my years in Glasgow studying and working with people who welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home, even though I was thousands of miles away from Malaysia.

Danny McGuigan Centre Director, The Business Development Centre, Glasgow

Studying for a PhD in HRM was a mighty challenge that tested me to my limits. The learning is not just about intellectual pursuit but was also about discipline in managing myself, my emotions, my time and all the resources around me.

Completion of my PhD in Human Resource Management at the University of Strathclyde turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. As an older student, receiving this degree two years ago was very satisfying and Robert Isaac, exciting and it greatly assisted me PhD in gaining tenure here at my home university in Calgary, Canada. As a Haskayne School distance learning student, I was able of Business, University of to earn a living while carrying out my Calgary, Calgary research. Additionally, this opportunity gave me the chance to come to love the City of Glasgow and its people. The great faculty and staff of the Department of Human Resource Management will always occupy a very special place in my heart and I will forever be grateful to them. An additional benefit for me from taking the program was that I was fortunate to publish my research in two papers in the Journal of Business Ethics, a Financial Times of London top 40 rated journal. As a consequence of all the wonderful growth experiences I underwent while a student, I continue to recommend to my own students that they pursue graduate degrees at both the Masters and doctoral levels through the University of Strathclyde
