LEARNING OUTLINE PRE-LESSON


Brainstorm about countries and nationalities on the board. Pupils are called out at
random to write the nationality beside the correct countries.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
1. Pupils copy the table from textbook page 7.
2. Explain to pupils that they will listen to three descriptions and ask them to tick one
of the three pictures based on what they hear. Play the audio again if needed for Tp3
pupil.
3. Pupils copy the table into their exercise books.
4. Teacher says the clue and pupils tick the correct answer.
POST-LESSON
Pupils play the ‘Bomb game’. Each pupil is given a country name. Teacher draw lots
to determine the first pupil to start. For example: KOREA, KOREA, KOREA, BRAZIL
*clap*. The pupil that does not respond fast is disqualified.

Each pupil is given a flag. Pupil listen to audio CD 1 Track 9. Pupils practise the
exchange based on textbook page 7.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
1. Pupils walk around the class by showing their flag and practise their exchange (M).
Pupils are guided by their peers. (L).
2. Pupils are given the country cootie catcher template to fold / teachers can guide
pupils to create their own cootie catcher.
3. Pupils play the cootie catcher in pairs.
POST-LESSON
Distribute the photocopied worksheet. Pupils complete the worksheet. TP3 pupil is
partially guided.

The word ‘figure skater’ and ‘chess player’ are written on the board. Pupils guess the
meanings of the words.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
1. Pupils refer to textbook page 8. Pupils look at the picture. Pupils read along with
audio CD1 Track 11.
2. Pupils refer to questions in Activity 2 textbook page 23.
Pupils copy the questions into their exercise books and answer the questions based
on the texts. TP3 pupil is partially guided.
3. Pupils play the ‘oh-som’ game and the winner from each round will get a paper
strip with these questions at random. The game continues until all pupils got a paper
strip.
 What time does Megan go to the ice-skating rink?
 What does she do after school?
 What time does she go to bed?
 What time does Pablo go to school?
 What time does Pablo go home?
POST-LESSON
Pupils write their answer on the board. Teacher discusses the questions upon
revealing the answers. Pupils copy the questions and answers in their exercise book.

explained about the adverbs.
2. Pupils copy the exercise in Activity 3 page 9 into their exercise books in cursive
writing (M). Pupils are guided by teacher to complete the cursive writing.
3. Pupils refer to Activity 4. Pupils are given a worksheet to guide with the cursive
writing.
POST-LESSON
Pupils continue their cursive writing work.

1. Pupils are introduced to the poem. Pupils read the poem first.
2. Teacher recites the poem followed by the pupils.
4. Pupils are given a ‘Feelings Flow Map’. Teacher explains about the task.
5. Pupils fill in the ‘Feelings Flow Map’ with the correct feelings. Pupils can draw
emojis to describe how they fill. TP3 pupil is partially guided.
6. Pupils share their reasons for their feelings.
POST-LESSON
Pupils try to perform the poem as a jazz chant.
