IMPORTANT GENERAL NOTICE – PET FRIENDLY ESTATE & CATS

Dear Owners and / Residents,

We have received concerns raised by residents regarding cats in the estate. Concerns range from allergies,
disturbance of peace, entering the premises of others or being on vehicles of others. Please note that all
theses concerns are valid.

There are many advantaged to complex living, pet owner or not. Residing in a complex means you are
bound by the rules of the complex, including the rules regarding pets.

We hereby kindly remind the owners/ residents of the rules pertaining to pets as stated in the conduct
rules:

The rules allow for creating harmonious communal living where everyone experiences enjoyment.

The estate being “pet friendly” means that pets are allowed under the approved Body Corporate rules,
and residents will be accommodating to pets residing within the complex (under the circumstances such
as animal noise & pets roaming on common property). The Body Corporate rules cater for pets on
common property on a lead and not roaming freely and unsupervised. Unfortunately, cats are not
excluded from this rule and therefor need to be on a lead and controlled when walked on common
property – Pet owners are also responsible for moving their pet away should another pet OR person feel
uncomfortable by the presence of their pet. Being that pets cannot be on leads the entire time in the
estate, the rules allow pets to be within the house or in exclusive use gardens without leads. It is important
to note that the pet must remain within their owner’s control and not allowed to roam into the property
of others or hinder others in the estate.

There are many dangers a roaming cat can face: Namley dog attacks, being hit by cars, feline aids and
leuikemia virus carried by stray cats, cat fights, being harmed by other residents. In other words a cat
indoors actualy keeps them safer and beneifits their health againts many harmfull diseases.

Our aim is to create the most ideal environment we can for all residents and pets to live together and be
safe.

The Board of Trustees looks forward to your co-operation in this regard. Thank you!

THE BODY CORPORATE
