ACTIVITY 1

Welcome to the first module in English 10!I hope you are doing great staying at
home safe and sound.
News reports, speeches, informative talks, panel discussions, forums and
webinars are very important in everyday life. These may come from different sources
like watching news channels be it local, national or international; attending meetings or
ceremonies; streaming entertainment programs like Ellen of USA; or Magandang Buhay
here in the Philippines, or engaging to seminars, workshops or trainings and the latest
trend, webinars via various digital applications like the Zoom app.
Although not all of these will suit a person’s taste or liking, choosing what source
of information interests you will help you grow as a person holistically. All these bases of
meaningful data have one common goal: to inform and add knowledge to the readers,
audience and listeners and explain it as clear as possible to be able to use and apply
new insights in day to day living. Whatever information you get from what you are
watching, reading and listening or getting into, make sure to use it in your advantage.
In this module, learners have the chance to read a wide variety of informative
passages with different genres in place. I hope you won’t get bored but appreciate what
this module brings to you.
In this self-engaging module, you being an active and engaging learner is
expected to:
