1 LEARNING OUTCOMES (LO):
1 Apply the simulation results for the various types of simulation analysis based
. on the electronic circuit theory and operations. (C3, PLO1)

2 OBJECTIVE :
To analyze and simulate AC circuit .
3 THEORY :

Transient Source : Transient Analysis is use of voltage or current source

which varies with time. Below are the types of
transient sources :
• Sinusoidal Source(VSIN)
• Pulse Source(VPULSE)
• Piece – Wise – Linear (PWL)
• Exponential(EXP)

4 EQUIPMENT / TOOLS / SOFTWARE :

1. PC workstation
2. Related software
5 PROCEDURE :

PART A
Draw and simulate all the circuits in Figure 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 .
Sketch their input and output waveform in Result section.

a. Sinusoidal Source (VSIN)

Amplitude : 12V
Frequency : 50 Hz
AC Magnitude : 1V

Figure 3.1: The Diode Clipper Circuit

b. Pulse Source (VPULSE)

AC Magnitude : 1V
Pulsed Value : 5
Rise time : 1ns
Fall time : 1ns
Pulse Width : 2.5m
Period : 5m

Figure 3.2 : Relay Based Switch Circuit

c. Piece Wise Linear (PWL)

AC magnitude : 1V
Time / Value Pairs :
0s – 0V
1s – 0V
2s – 5V
3s – 5V
4s - -5V
5s - -5V

d. Exponential source (EXP)

AC Magnitude : 1V
Rise delay time : 0.2 us
Rise time constant : 0.8us
Fall delay time : 1.2 us
Fall time constant : 0.8us
