Introduction

There is a passion in Prof. Hersh Chadhas venture; a passion for conveying the wisdom of the centuries, right up to the present day, for the benefit of all. Many times has compassion filled his heart . . . and many times has he aimed at understanding the power of the human spirit, as conveyed in his quotations and anecdotes. His work is a reiteration of things known and things remembered, and a campaign to integrate them into our lives. This book is recommended to all people who believe in the essence of true compassion and responsibility, and to those who seek to instil greater peace and harmony in the world. It is a handbook of vision and wisdom that inspires us to create a new, more meaningful future. It is a matter of great pride and pleasure for me to provide this Foreword to Hersh Chadhas new work. His efforts are exemplary in more ways than one. This is also a tribute to his mother who taught him the most important value: that of self-esteem the greatest essence of ones soul. This book aims at empowering our emotional world to restructure ourselves in a manner in which we can become healers of each other and the world. It holds

the key to the transformation of our wounded planet through the evolution of our inner selves. As your children are growing, you instinctively know that the most important thing you could do for them is to give them the self-esteem, self-assurance and security that comes from a direct experience of the essence of ones soul as expressed in these quotes. Hersh Chadha is a follower of the wisdom and traditions that have taught him that the world is an extension of oneself. It is really up to us to unlock the secrets of life, love, happiness and success. To excel in our work and our relationships, to foster bonds with the generations before and after us, and to instil values in our children that will give them confidence and inspire them to treat others with love and respect. I am sure that this volume will serve as a useful benchmark and guide each one of us into becoming more complete human beings.

All About Colour The envelope of the earth, The sky, is blue in colour. The shades of our land Are pastel in colour. But it is the small Flowers which tell Us all about colour.

It was the vibrant coral-pink of these magnificent tulips in Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands that first attracted me to this scene, then I realized the repetition of shape was equally important.

Colour Colour is to eyes what water is to thirst.

Colour is vital in photography and its amazing how many colours occur in tulips. The kaleidoscope effect is exhilarating, if not intoxicating.

Wishes As you think so you are, as you dream so you become, as you create your wishes so they create you.

Flowers and plants are the breath of life. Whenever possible, I like to move close in with a macro lens to highlight each flowers colour and shape. I especially enjoyed photographing the anthurium on the left s because of the way the light fell on it.

Orchids, Phuket, Thailand It was my daughters birthday and I had the whole swimming pool full of orchids. While she slept through the night and woke up a year older they were there, waiting for the morning sun to rise before she could step into the pool. Late in the morning the orchids clung onto one another in the water, moving from side to side. Then I saw they were slowly moving to one side and I decided to push them into the centre. While I did this the sun shone and my princess woke to see her swimming pool full of orchids. It was a magical moment. A treat from her father, or from the orchids, or from the sun whichever way you look at it. So many things go into making a perfect day but we only see what we want to see.
