1. GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE MACHINE
The 1650 EV3 single-headed automatic unit has two needles and two large bobbin rotating hooks for tacking, at the
same time, the pre-programmed measurements of the two tacks with the automatic preparation, positioning and
sewing of pre-sewn loops on jeans, sportswear or work clothes.
The unit is pneumatically operated and managed by an electronic logic circuit which controls the cycle by means of
electronic proximity sensors.
The unit consists of 4 main groups:

1st Sewing head with relative EFKA motor positioner and synchronizer, and pneumatically controlled electronic
thread cutter.

2nd Equipment for preparation and positioning of the pre-sewn loop on the trousers.

3rd Control unit including logic circuit, solenoid valves, electronic proximity sensors and relative wiring.

4th Pneumatic unit with filter, pressure reducers, gauges, battery, solenoid valves, cylinders and supply tubing.

The unit draws the line of the pre-sewn loop at the pre-determined length, cuts it and folds the two ends to form a
loop. At this point the operator, after having positioned the trousers on the machine, uses the two loading buttons
and the feed mechanism positions the loop under the pressure feet.
The pressure feet lower and start the two tacks, after which the machine cuts the threads and lifts the pressure feet.
During the sewing cycle a new loop is prepared and, in the “SHORT STROKE”, the carriage is pre-positioned near
the sewing machine to allow the operator to see if the loop presents eventual abnormalities and to reduce loading
time. The machine can be easily adjusted for different loop dimensions, with a minimum distance between the need-
les of 40 mm and a maximum distance of 70 mm, with a loop width between 8mm and 20 mm when the machine is
equipped with quick measurement change (optional).
The number of stitches per tack is 28, 36 or 42.
The machine cycle requires about 10 seconds to sew five loops (with 28 stitches per cycle).

SUPPLY VOLTAGE
The supply voltage is:
220/380/415V three-phase 50/60 Hertz.
220V single phase 50/60 Hertz.
Consumption is about 900 W.

COMPRESSED AIR CONSUMPTION AND PRESSURE

Consumption is about 4 liters of air intake per cycle with a constant pressure of at least 5.5 bar.
Consumption at maximum machine operation is about 120 liters of air intake per minute.
Maximum operation means the machine works at maximum production (5 complete cycles, including discard of the
addition, in about 10 seconds).

19
11.7 AUTOMATIC UNIT HEIGHT ADUSTMENT
The unit has a device which allows the operator to adjust the height of the unit
from the ground.
The total height of the unit must be positioned in respect to the front of the operator
in the standing position in front of the unit itself as illustrated in the figure below.
This is done to obtain a good ergonomic work station and reduce fatigue and
otherwise discomfort for the operator.
There is a handle on the right of the automatic unit.
Turn it Clockwise to lift the unit.
Turn it Counter clockwise to lower it.
Minimum height: the wheels touch the ground.
Maximum height: the red sign on the sliding leg is visible. Stop.

To obtain correct positioning of the unit, the front of the operator must be aligned with the upper part of the sewing
machine.
In this way it is possible to obtain an ergonomic work station to facilitate operation, safety and production of the unit
by the operator.

Note: An optional instrument which indicates the position of the height of the machine in numbers can be supplied.
This makes it easier to find the position of the height of the unit when it is used for different work shifts.
