Research Title: A comparison between deepwell and fishpond as a source of water supply in growing pechay

Title of the Literature (Give the title of your selected Gist (Give the most important information in your
book, journal, article, magazine, newspaper or any selected source that is relevant to your topic.)
published source of information.)

LOCAL

1. Estimation of Nutrient Load from Aquaculture According to the previous study conducted by Opinion
Farms in Manila Bay, Philippines and Raña (2016), pond preparation and feeding
management activities were commonly practiced in
aquaculture farms around Manila Bay. Farmers often
apply fertilizers such as urea, chicken manure,
complete and ammonium phosphate during pond
fertilization while commercial feeds, lablab, and lumot
were extensively used for feeding

Majority of the farmers in the area do not observe the

guidelines of good aquaculture practices

The overfeeding and excessive use of fertilizer were

apparent which could lead to high nutrient levels that
loads from aquaculture farms

2. Farm ponds for water, fish and livelihoods Water from ponds can provide irrigation for crops and
water for livestock.

3. Can you use fish pond water for nutrients for The algae provide nitrogen to your plants. When I
plants? clean out my fish pond I pump the dirty water into a
big garden cart and go around to the flower beds to
pour it out. Plants love it. Pond water is fine for plants.

You still need to use a balanced fertilizer or compost

on your plants. Pond water doesn’t provide all the
nutrients they need, but it certainly won’t hurt them

FOREIGN

1. Effects of Irrigation using water from fish ponds on The water used for fish farming in aquaculture was
plant growth in North Eastern Nigeria disposed of, but this has changed in recent years, as
fish pond water has been shown to be potentially
beneficial to plant growth.

2. Evaluation of the properties of waste from African The waste from the fish was found to have high
catfish (Clarias Gariepinus B.) farming in the context of concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus. These are
using it for agricultural purposes the main elements which decide on the fertilizing
value of the studied material

3. Plants Watered With Fish Tank Water: Using Dirty fish tank water isn’t healthy for fish, but it’s rich
Aquarium Water To Irrigate Plants in beneficial bacteria, as well as potassium,
phosphorus, nitrogen, and trace nutrients that will
promote lush, healthy plants. These are some of the
same nutrients you’ll find in many commercial
fertilizers.

4. Is Fish Poop Good for Your Plants? A nutrient dense product made from the left-overs
when fish are processed for food; and while it can be a
good fertilizer, it has its limitations. One: it can be very
high in nitrogen, which grows big plants but can inhibit
flowering and fruiting; that makes it perfect for
growing sweet corn but not tomatoes. Second, some
batches of one of the first brands of fish fertilizer that
was available in stores have been found to have very
high levels of chlorine

5. Watering Houseplants With Fish Tank Water Aquarium water or Fish Tank water accumulates
nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and ammonia, plus
beneficial micro-organisms that process these
materials.
