CONTEMPORARY PHILIPPINE ARTS
FROM THE REGION
MIDTERM EXAMINATION
RATIONALE:

In line with the prescribed Curriculum Guide of the Department of Education for
the subject Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Region, the learners are expected to
appreciate contemporary art forms found in the various regions by understanding the
elements and principles. Moreover, the students are also expected by the Department
of Education to understand the significant roles of various artists from the regions in
shaping, molding, and thriving for the development of National Identity. In connection
with this, the students will be tasked to create and/or produce a promotional video
that will emphasize and accentuate the significant contributions of Filipino artists from
various regions. This activity will result in the actualization of the primary objectives of
this course which are: enabling and empowering the youth/students to appreciate its
cultural heritage, as well as, promoting various artforms from different regions that
showcases Filipino unique cultural tradition.

Also, appreciation of one’s own cultural roots is necessary. For students to have
a better understanding of the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines, one should
immerse and fathom the depth of Filipino culture.

Lastly, with the help of this activity, students will be equipped with various cultural
lenses on understanding the significance of promoting, and preserving the cultural
heritage of one’s own identity and cultural roots.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To understand the significant roles of the National Artists from the different
regions.
2. To demonstrate the significant contributions of National Artists from the various
regions.
3. Encourage the students to promote various artforms from different regions.
4. Foster love and appreciation to the cultural heritage and beauty of the arts.
INSTRUCTIONS:

1. The class will group themselves with 6 members each. (Teacher discretion if
alphabetical or random order)

2. Each Group will select a National Artist

2.1 Groups must select an artist from different regions. One region-one artist
rule, groups must avoid choosing artists from the same region.

2.2 Each Group will submit to their teacher the name of their chosen National
Artist and from what region

3. Conduct a research about the chosen National artists


(like but not limited to:)
- brief life history of the artist
- achievements
- famous works
- contribution in promoting art
4. After research, each group will create a promotional video for the National Artist
- Strictly use the Rubrics as a guide for your video presentation
- you may use any editing software/platform for your output
- be creative.

5. Submission - Groups will submit their output in a google drive folder


5.1 Use your adamson account when you create a folder

5.3 Inside your folder upload your output and a word document
5.4 In your word document, attach the names and the task assigned to each
members of your group and the rubrics
6. Share the link to your CPAR Teacher
note: make sure you will give access to your teacher

7. Deadline: October 12-14, 2022; 6:00pm

8. In case you have questions or clarifications, message your teacher through black
board or email your teacher.
