B. Special Tools:
L131M0001101 Jacking Brackets (2 pieces)
L131M0002101 Weighing Bracket
Commercial Jacks (3 pieces)
Commercial Spirit Level
Commercial Clinometer
Commercial Dumpy Level (with Tripod)
Commercial Plumb Bob
Commercial String (approx. 20 m)
Commercial Tape Measure
Commercial Protractor (5’-Division)
Commercial Straight edge 1 m (with measuring head)
Commercial Straight edge 2 m (with measuring head)
C. Consumable Materials:
commercial Adhesive Tape
D. Procedure:
1. Remove all external loads (long range fuel tank, load hook system), if available.
5. Jack helicopter.
d. Actuate both aft jacks commercial evenly until the clearance between ground
and skid is approx. 50 mm.
e. Actuate front jack commercial evenly until the clearance between ground and
skid is approx. 10 mm.
f. Place spirit level commercial on the cabin floor and use jacks commercial
to pre-align helicopter roughly into lateral and longitudinal directions and
facilitate subsequent more accurate alignment.
g. Hand-tighten retaining rings of the jacks commercial and check that landing
gear is clear of the ground.
7. Align helicopter.
(1) Adjust aft jacks commercial and adjust the measuring points 4 and 5
using the dumpy level commercial to the same height.
(1) Adjust front jack commercial and adjust the measuring points 4 and 5
and measuring point 7 to the same height using the dumpy level.
c. Record the differences between the measuring values for measuring points
4 and 6 or 5 and 7, for measuring points 4 and 8, and for measuring points 8
and 9 in the measuring report (Figure 1).
(1) Hold plumb bob commercial with its string to marked rivet of measuring
point 2 (Figure 4) so that the plumb bob tip is suspended approx. 10-15
mm above the ground. Stick adhesive tape commercial to the ground
area below plumb bob tip. After the plumb bob commercial has stopped
swinging, release the string so that the falling tip marks the XY-position
of measuring point 2 on the adhesive tape.
(2) Using the same procedure, hold plumb bob commercial with its string
to marked rivet of measuring point 10 and mark its XY-position on the
ground.
(3) Using the same procedure, hold plumb bob commercial with its string
to marked rivet of measuring point 11 and mark its XY-position on the
ground.
e. Plumb measuring points to measure the position of the tailbone with respect
to the longitudinal axis of the helicopter.
(1) Hold plumb bob commercial with its string to marked rivet of measuring
point 1 (Figure 5) and a second plumb bob commercial to marked rivet
of measuring point 2 so that the plumb bob tips are suspended approx. 4
mm above the ground.
(2) After the plumb bobs commercial have stopped swinging, stretch string
commercial on the ground from the point directly below plumb bob tip
of measuring point 1 to point directly below plumb bob tip of measuring
point 2 and fixed with adhesive tape commercial.
(3) Extend string commercial on ground below the plumb bob tips from
measuring point 1 via 2 to aft.
(4) Hold plumb bob commercial with its string to marked rivet of measuring
point 3 so that the plumb bob tip is suspended approx. 4 mm above the
ground.
(5) After the plumb bob commercial has stopped swinging, measure the
Y-deviation between the string commercial and plumb bob tip directly
below measuring point 3 on the ground. Record result if Y-deviation to
RH as (+) or to LH as (-) in the measuring report (Figure 1).
f. Measure forward tilt angle alpha and lateral tilt angle beta of the rotor axis at
the rotor mast (3, Figure 6) using clinometer commercial.
(2) Position clinometer commercial (1) on the hub cap support (2) in
longitudinal direction.
(3) Determine angle alpha and record in the measuring report (Figure 1).
(5) Determine angle beta and record in the measuring report (Figure 1).
9. If the measuring results show that the tolerances indicated have been exceeded,
contact ECD-service engineering or local ECD-representative and perform
corrective measures in accordance with ECD's instructions.
10. Prior to lowering the helicopter remove all objects which could damage the
helicopter.
a. Remove securing devices from the jacks commercial. Carefully operate jacks
commercial and evenly lower helicopter.
13. Record general data into the measuring report and file measuring report in the
historical record of the helicopter.
