MARINA L. ROBERT
Office of the Public Schools District Supervisor
City Schools Division of Tanauan

Dear Ma’am,

Greetings!

Learners of the 21 st century are exposes to different innovation with equipped gadgets
for social networking or surfing. It plays a vital role in bridging the gap between the student
and the subject area. Helping the students to cope up with their difficulties to learn. Letting
them feel that they will be guided and supported by the teachers regardless of their academic
weaknesses and even in the absence of teachers’ physical interaction with them. To help
students, we want to provide the Grade Seven to Grade Ten students the opportunity to
improve their numerical skills. We would like to request your permission and support to
conduct a math project entitled “Bridge the Gap in Math”. The program is using a Screen O-
Matic application, an application for a self-constructed video presentation prepared by teacher.
The video provided serves as a supplementary learning material in every Math lesson aligned
in the MELC from Grade Seven to Grade Ten.

The program will take place every Friday afternoon as scheduled by teacher by grade
level starting November until March.

Your consideration will be highly appreciated. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you very much and God Bless!

VI. Rationale:

The current situation of the world dealing with coronavirus disease

2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has created anxieties, turbulence, and fears in the
young minds. The new normal in education has required a lot of adjustment in all
academe, stakeholders, and students. It created challenges to our educational
community, in the event that it becomes necessary to disrupt face-to-face holding
of classes and instructional meetings, it changes the role of a teachers as a
mediator whom aided learners to learn but it doesn’t mean that learning must
stop. In reference with the announcement of our Secretary, Leonor M. Briones,
“Education Must Continue”, the issuance of DepEd Order No. 007, s. 2020
School Calendar and Activities for School Year 2020-2021,the Department of
Education (DepEd) is committed to ensure educational continuity amidst the
challenges, education must continue to give hope and stability, contribute to the
normalization of activities in the country, facilitate development of our leaners
and bring normalcy to the lives, but health and safety of learners and school
personnel are of outmost importance and must be protected at all times.
Education must continue despite of the world crisis and this will be possible by
conducting distance learning instruction.

In line with the mission and vision of school, this project will help
student’s difficulty to understand mathematics, enhanced their numerical and
critical thinking skills and developed their love for independent learning in
Mathematics

VII. Objectives:

Program objectives are as follows:

a) show mastery of the lesson,

b) impart the student the need for independent learning
c)develop student’s numerical and critical thinking skill
d) strengthen a life-long learning of the student.
e) obtain passing grades.
f) decrease repetition rate.

VIII. Project Description:

The implementation of the Bridge the Gap in Math program is using the
Screen O-Matic application, application used by teacher in generating a self-
constructed video which is a recorded type, more on explaining and discussing the
lesson contained in the power point presentation. It can play any time to attain
student mastery of the lesson. This serves as a supplementary learning material
provided to students send through their personal account in the messenger and
provided group messenger. Students with no access to internet will be provided
through a shared file during field monitoring before the implementation of the
program. All video files/recorded is prepared and forwarded in a group messenger.
Monitoring and assessment on the efficiency of the program is properly monitored
through a pre test and post done which is done quarterly.

Expected Outputs:

 Attendance
 Documentation

IX. Monitoring and Evaluation:

The project will all managed by the Mathematics Teacher in each grade level.
