The Clouds that Danced like Boating Hamsters

A Short Story

by Mr Pseudonym

Barry Meadows had always loved grand Exeter with its panicky,
pongy parks. It was a place where he felt puzzled.

He was a thoughtful, smelly, brandy drinker with ugly elbows and

hairy legs. His friends saw him as a determined, drab dolphin. Once,
he had even helped a raspy old lady cross the road. That's the sort of
man he was.

Barry walked over to the window and reflected on his picturesque

surroundings. The clouds danced like boating hamsters.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the

figure of Chloe Fish. Chloe was a brave author with wide elbows and
grubby legs.

Barry gulped. He was not prepared for Chloe.

As Barry stepped outside and Chloe came closer, he could see the
spicy smile on her face.

"I am here because I want some more Twitter followers," Chloe

bellowed, in a giving tone. She slammed her fist against Barry's chest,
with the force of 956 toads. "I frigging love you, Barry Meadows."

Barry looked back, even more concerned and still fingering the
ribbed knife. "Chloe, oh my God they killed Kenny," he replied.

They looked at each other with stressed feelings, like two

outrageous, oily ostriches singing at a very forgetful wake, which had
reggae music playing in the background and two gentle uncles
eating to the beat.

Suddenly, Chloe lunged forward and tried to punch Barry in the face.
Quickly, Barry grabbed the ribbed knife and brought it down on
Chloe's skull.

Chloe's wide elbows trembled and her grubby legs wobbled. She
looked barmy, her body raw like a bad, boiling book.

Then she let out an agonising groan and collapsed onto the ground.
Moments later Chloe Fish was dead.

Barry Meadows went back inside and made himself a nice glass of
brandy.
