CHAPTER FOUR

ORGANIZATIONAL CRITICAL AND SWOT ANALYSIS

4.1. STRENGTHS OF JONGO HUB

 Daily monitoring of employee activities: through the development of a daily schedule

of activities that strictly warrants each employee to strictly send to his or her
supervising officer or manager the activities him or her has completed for that day.
This makes it possible to ensure the effectiveness of their productivity of the company
which makes them unique in their traits and attracts views from the community.
 The aim of JONGO HUB is to raise a generation of African kings and queens who
through creative designs, disruptive innovations and transformational skills to take over
the market. The Hub has met with this objective to the fullest even more than expected
 Control of the execution time of the tasks: time is of utmost importance at the hub so
the application of time management is used by all the employees in order to measure
and control the real execution time of a task so as to help meet its objectives. This
application measures the efficiency in problem solving and saves time for the business
to carry out more jobs within their estimated time of delivery.
 JONGO HUB has an efficient supervising team who are excellent in their various field
especially in the training and passing of knowledge.
 They have a good team for advertisement and content creation which publicize the hub
and brings in more people to the hub thereby increasing revenue

4.2. WEAKNESS OF JONGO HUB

 The Hub does not have a backup system that can power up when there is black out or
power failure which makes work slow or been put to a standstill when there is no light
 The new employee's training documents are not up to date, which slows down their
training and makes it hard for interns and employees to follow up with activities.
 Insufficient worker that work in the company permanently to carry out the activities
that the hub offers; training of interns, marketing the hub etc.
 Poor allocation of job; giving the managerial role of a Technology based company no
non tech personnel to manage.
4.3. OPPORTUNITIES OF JONGO HUB

 Buea is a growing city with many business ventures and young aspiring entrepreneurs
who want to venture into business and also whose population increases geometrically
hence there is a boost to the organization as a very large amount of the population
needs the services the company offers.
 The worlds mindset is changing and the youths are fast getting into the job market of
which Buea is jam packed with youths with innovative skills who just need directions
on how the market works of which the company is strategically placed in Buea and
offers those services.

4.4. THREATS OF JONGO HUB

Competition: Despite the fact JONGO HUB is a powerful institution; there are many
competitors around the world, Cameroon and in Buea in particular with about 55% of the
companies in Buea been technologically active. As the world is slowly evolving into a
computerized one, there is a need for the Hub to intensify their work force and be more
efficient and ready for the market.

Tax: The increase in tax rates has greatly increase the cost of running the organization as
much of the profit made is paid as tax.

4.5. MAIN PROBLEMS

 The main issue of this company is poor management, misallocation of funds,

misplaced priorities like taking money to buy materials when the machines used to
print on the materials are bad.
 They also lack an efficient backup system or generator to power their offices when
there is a power failure.
CHAPTER FIVE

CONCLUSION, RECOMMENDATIONS AND LEARNING

OUTCOME

5.1. CONCLUSION
To conclude, my internship at JONGO HUB was very beneficial because not only did it allow
me to put into practice the lessons I received in training, especially to install an operating
system, install an application, perform a diagnostic, create websites, create a UI/UX interface,
developed skills in public speaking, serigraphy also to solve a problems encountered in any
aspect of life and finally develop the sense of efficiency, punctuality, organization and time
saving in the performance of a given task. I also learned how to adapt to new environment and
how to work with people you don’t know and bond with them to share ideas that will help me
in the future as I strive in my career. During this internship, the skills that I have gathered for
free is costly if I was to pay for but I got it for free with little or no efforts and I got such good
coaching as regards to how the technology field operates with in depth designs and analysis to
foster the community and society which I will be released into after my training program. All
this experience will certainly contribute to a better practice of my technological skills and
know-how in the teaching profession.

5.2. RECOMMENDATIONS
JONGO HUB should:
 Take firm considerations and background checks of the field of study of their
employees before they are handed strategic jobs I n the company so as to make the
work go smoothly and avoid unnecessary breakdown of work and lack of qualified
supervision of activities dues to lack of knowledge in the field required. With the
right people in the right places in the company, the work force will be good and there
will be adequate control and supervision of work.
 I recommend that the training of interns o be taking as a top priority for they are
possibly the workers they will hire for jobs in the nearest future. Let quality
knowledge be transmitted and also hire more qualified personnel’s with good mastery
to train interns.
 Install and up to date and fully functioning backup system that can power the offices
in time of power failure so as to make work continue even when there is power failure
in the area. They should also maintain the machine that brings in more cash rather than
buying more materials with no machines to print on them.
 Recruit more permanent staff to the company to increase the labor force and diversify
skill set.
 Install a stable wireless connection at the offices to facilitate the transfer on
information among workers when they are at the workshop and also they should
ensure the supply of portable water which employees can drink and even use in the
rest room.
For HTTTC, the school program should be re-adjusted so as to increase the duration of
internship because the time giving for us for internship is too small so we can’t meet up with
all what the company has to offer we only take crash courses so we can cover much in a very
short time. We are teachers in training and practical skills are also very important for us.

5.3. LEARNING OUTCOME

At the end of this internship, the following learning outcomes can be enumerated.
 I gathered so many skills set ranging from hardware to software development: web
development, analyzing a website, running SEO on websites, digital marketing skills,
creating databases, hosting static and non-static websites for free, how to create
multiple pages on a website, downloading and installation of word press and it plugins
in order to build a website successfully. Application development skills: how to create
an interactive interface where users can sign up and also log into their mobile and
desktop applications, create a user friendly interface where users can navigate around
the application with ease. Graphics designing; how to create flyers, make
advertisement posters, design banners, design business cards with the use of Adobe
Photoshop. Serigraphy; learnt how to create a stencils used in printing, how to capture
images on the stencil, how to print on t-shirts, cups, and much more. I also developed
skills in public speaking and a problem solving mindset to tackle situations that am
faced with.
 I was assigned the responsibility to manage my fellow interns and teach on office
automation which has improved and boosted my confidence and now I can transfer
knowledge with ease.
 I met scenarios where I applied knowledge from my course work back in school
basically in programming to solve problems that are programming drawn.
 The internship was aimed at increasing my skill set which it has greatly done and now
ci can be self-employed outside the teaching job.
 Develop self-training and rapid adaptation to a new environment
 Improve my data entry speed thanks to the blind entry training I received.
 During my time at the center I thought the management and showed them what it
takes to be dedicated to achieve your goals and also proved the necessity for each
student to undergo an effective internship.
