 Description of Circulatory System
Human
The Circulatory System is made up of our heart and
blood vessels. The arteries take blood away from the
heart and then the veins carry it back once it’s
deoxygenated. The deoxygenated blood enters
through the vena cava, then to the right atrium of the
heart, and then to the right ventricle. The blood
moves to the pulmonary artery which takes blood to
the lungs, and travels through the pulmonary veins to
the left atrium of the heart. The blood flows through
the aorta and pumps all the blood to the body.
Blue Jay (birds in general)
The heart in birds are divided into four parts called
chambers. The heart carries oxygen and nutrients to
the body through the blood. The blood flows back
through the heart to the first chamber (right atrium).
The left atrium pumps blood to the left ventricle
which is the strongest chamber of the four. The left
ventricle pumps blood through the whole body using
arteries. The process repeated with every heartbeat
taken.

Human Blue Jay (Birds in General)

Everyone’s skeletal system is made up of bones and
cartilage. Without these we wouldn’t have support to
stand of move. The skull protects the brain and
everything in our head. The spine bring our whole
body together and is the main part of the nervous
system.
Birds have very light bones, this is so that they can
fly. They are mostly thin and hollow. Their sternum is
what helps them fly. Birds also have very flexible
necks compared to other animals (why owls can turn
their necks around).Almost all of the birds bones are
fused together, this makes the skeleton very shaky.
One of the bones that are fused is the collar bone.
