Cause Correction

Allow the engine to warm to operating

temperature. If the engine will not reach
Engine is cold operating temperature, refer to the
Coolant Temperature Below Normal

Check for air in the fuel system. Tighten

or replace the fuel connections, fuel
Air in the fuel system
lines, fuel tank standpipe, and fuel filters
as necessary.

Check the fuel supply line or passage

Fuel supply line or passage restriction
for sharp bends or restriction. Refer to
between the fuel pump and the injectors
Procedure 200-001 in Section D.

Dry the connectors with Cummins®

Moisture in the wiring harness

Operate the engine from a tank of high

Fuel grade is not correct for the
quality fuel. Refer to Procedure 018-002
application or the fuel quality is poor
in Section V.
