ORGANISATION OF THE CLASS


The teacher greets the pupils and asks them a few ordinary questions (Who is on duty
today? / Who is absent today?/ How are you today? / What’s the weather like today?).

WARM-UP: The teacher asks students to write their main worry (the greatest one) on
a piece of paper. The teacher is the first to write her worry and then she puts the
paper in a box. The students do the same.The teacher invites them to forget about all
the worries and have nice activities.

HOMEWORK CHECK
(Ex. 7- workbook- page 58)-
The teacher asks them about their homework and checks their notebook. The pupils
read their homework while the other classmates pay attention in order to correct them.

ACTIVITY 2: LISTENING- WRITING


AIM: -to understand the meaning of a recorded message
PROCEDURE: For this activity the teacher plays an advertisement several times if
necessary. Students complete the worksheet with the information they are asked to.
As they do this the teacher writes the headings for the table on the board. The teacher
goes through answers pausing the tape as necessary and the students complete the
table on the board. Then the teacher initiates conversation about the product
advertised.

ACTIVITY 3: WRITING- SPEAKING (Ex. 9 page 92)


AIMS:-to encourage individual work
PROCEDURE: For this activity the teacher gives students a few moments to read
through the task for themselves, elicits some ideas in answer to the questions, but
does not get students to go into much detail at this point. Working individually
students think up answers to the questions, and make notes.

ACTIVITY 4: TALKING(GROUP WORK ACTIVITY)


AIM: to encourage communication
PROCEDURE: For this activity the students are divided in three groups . The
students read through the task and the teacher checks that they understand the task.
They have to decide , as a group, which machine to enter for the competition.

ACTIVITY 5: WRITING
AIMS: -to practice the use of be able to
PROCEDURE: For this activity the students fill in a worksheet. The teacher
explains they have to fill in with the right form of be able to.

ACTIVITY 6: READING- SPEAKING (exercise 11)
AIM: - to read for specific information
PROCEDURE: The teacher makes sure the students know the meaning of PC,
Internet, surfing, smilies(elicits explanations). The students look at questions 1-8 ,
read the text silently and find answers to the questions.

ACTIVITY 7: READING(exercise 12 page 92)


AIM: to skim through the text to put the events in the right order
PROCEDURE:For this activity the students read sentences a)-h) then read the text
again and put the events in order. They do this activity individually and check their
answers in pairs.

PROCEDURE:The teacher asks students about their mood and gives them smilies
