Scotties sweep Malta CC Invite

Gearing up for the state cross country race makes
the final two regular season meets a lot of fun. And, it’s
really fun when you can sweep the team championships.
Glasgow participated in the Malta Invitational held
Saturday on the Marian Hills Golf Course.
Glasgow made it a sweep when the girls scored 22
points to run away with the title. Shelby was second with
54, Chinook had 65, Frazer 102 and Malta 114. The boys
also ran away with the title, scoring 15 points with Fort
Benton finishing with 61 and Harlem 63.
The Scotties placed five girls in the top 10 with
sophomore Tanae Baker winning the race, recording a
time of 19:15.6. Junior Emily See was third with a time of
20:14.3. Whitewater’s sophomore Shelbi LaBrie separated
Baker and See. LaBrie ran a time of 20:02.7. Freshman
Kimber Dulany ran a time of 23:16.1 for seventh, Riley
Evenson-Glasoe followed with a time of 23:27.3 and
Cayden Jankowski was 10th with a time of 23:43.8. The
next Scotty runner to cross the finish line was Kheyerah
Bilger with a time of 24:26.7 for 14th. She was followed by
Haylly Turner with a time of 24:54. Josie Kemp was 20th
with a 26:19.9, Mary Dykema 22nd with a 26:30.5, and
Eve Stone finished 42nd, running a time of 38:29.5.
The Glasgow boys dominated the race, placing eight
in the top 10. Senior Reed Larsen won his second straight
race, running a time of 17:07.2. Sophomore Kyler Holinde
followed with a time of 18:11. Senior Lane Thompson
finished fourth, running an 18:59.7. Following Larsen
were Ingram with a time of 19:39.1 and Ted See with a
time of 19:46.3.
Rounding out the top 10 were freshman Kyler
Whiteman in eighth place, running a 20:23.8. He was
followed by Eli Feezell with a time of 20:36 and Adam
Mickelson, running a time of 20:50.3. The Scotties also
had Jordan Cook finishing in 18th place, running a time
of 21:53.5. James Seekins was 22nd, Owen Thompson
25th, Malin Beck 26th, Vick Overbey 29th, and Dylan
Hlad 31st.
