ACTIVITIES FOR PAINTING
1.

Truly, our ancestors indeed have skills in visual arts especially in painting even before colonial

period. One of which are those painting that are being manifested tattoo tradition of early Filipinos, the

Pintados. This helped our ancestors to develop our own way of living and our own culture. And when

the Spaniards arrived in the Philippines in 1521, the colonizers used art as a tool to propagate the

Catholic faith through beautiful images. They commonly shown it in the walls of churches. Until Post –

Spanish era, the arts that were once done in a communal spirit and community setting for rituals began

to improve into modern one, involving a trend of nature, culture, and political statement.

Think of an inspiration that you can use as a subject of your painting.

Technicalities:

 8.5 x 11 size bond paper


 Watercolor or natural extracts from available flowers or leaves
 You may use coffee for a monochrome paint
 Use paint brush or improvise one
Explaination about my painting:
My painting is all about having courage and hope in facing today’s worldwide pandemic.
That woman in the picture symbolizes humanity who has the will and strength to fight against
corona virus. Together, we heal!
