COUNTER-AFFIDAVIT

I, Poncio Pilato, Filipino, of legal age, married, with residential address at Bitay, La
Trinidad, Benguet, after being duly sworn in accordance with law, do hereby depose
and state the following:

1. That I am surprised to receive a Subpoena on September 22, 2022 from this

Honorable Office dated September 20, 2022 directing me in the above-captioned
case to submit my counter-affidavit within ten (10) days from receipt thereof;

2. In compliance with the said Subpoena, I am now submitting this Counter-Affidavit

to vehemently deny the material allegations in the instant complaint which are
baseless, unfounded and unjust fabrications.

3. The truth respecting the matter is as follows:

a. On September 10, 2022, I went to the Cordillera’s Best University School

Library to study my lessons however, when I’m about to sit I saw on the floor
a color black wallet with a marking of ‘PGE’. I then picked up the wallet and
look what’s inside but to my surprise it was empty.

b. Believing that someone owns it, I intended to leave it at the librarian desk
after studying however, not noticing the time, I rushed back to my class
forgetting to leave the wallet to the librarian.

c. Sometime in September 14, 2022, while eating at the School canteen,

someone sit beside me in which I just ignore.

d. When I am about to leave, I happened to bring out the wallet inside my bag
and to my surprise the one sitting beside me spoke and asked me where I got
the wallet. I answered that it is mine without thinking that maybe he is the
owner. When I stood up, he asked my name and I just simply told him and left
the scene.

4. That I admit not being the owner of the wallet.

5. That I intend to bring it back to the librarian having no idea or knowledge of the
identity of its true owner.
 6. That I find it absurd that due to the above allegations, I am being humiliated and
called thief by some people unknown to me when I, honestly was I instilled to me
by my parents since childhood.

7. That I execute this counter-affidavit to attest to the truth of the foregoing and to
ask this Honorable Office to dismiss the herein case for utter lack of merit.
