The Flight from Conversation Reflection Essay

Technology has done many good things for our convenience.

During the age of globalization, new tech has aided to connect a worldwide gap. This
bridge of connection allows the humankind to have interconnection wherever we live and
despite of our distances which is impossible in the last decades. Preparation for around the world
travelling is quite easy by using mobile phone to buy flights and an accommodation. As we can
see, the technology just streamlining almost all of the process. Internet and digital banking, as
well as automated teller machines, have largely supplanted the need to connect with the banking
process in very fast and easy way.

The Internet has indeed just give us nearly infinite availability of materials, educational
resources, and e-learning for individuals to study or take a job from the comfort and privacy,
without engaging in dialogue with anyone physically. This has resulted in an increase in insta-
telecommuting, as well as distance studying school systems, which unfortunately has the
inevitable effect of educators, laborers, elders, and young kids continuing to lose their social skills
as a result of becoming growingly isolated from everybody else physically.

Deprivation of Social Skills

Furthermore, for social connections, people frequently use mobile applications to meet
up with friends, families or find dates, while having a comfortable stay at own home. This is in
contrast to a former era in which people met friends and dates through casual interaction
exterior of their own homes on a daily basis. The disadvantage of this is that it may lead to an
increase in sociopathic behavior and an absence of social skills acquisition. Instead of
encountering people in the real world, numerous youngsters are really only able to have a
conversation through texting or using online dating to connect with others.

Meltdown of Human Intimacy

Choosing to text or chat with someone rather than meeting in person, or at the very least
calling and listening another person's voice, when we are communicating with someone is not
that uncommon these days. Walking around or even sitting with others while their heads are
bent over an electronic device is also not uncommon, nor is it unusual for them to be totally
not understand what was going on in their immediate surroundings. As a result, human
interactions and partnerships have been reduced dramatically, whereas closeness and people
interactions have already been largely replaced by human-to-device interactions in the majority
of instances. Human relationships has been altered as a result of technological advancements,
which have created a distance between individuals and reduced intimacy. In such an era whereby
robotic machine and artificial intelligence (AI) are trying to replace people in the job, the amount
of communication between individuals and machines is now only going to grow.
In conclusion, we can see that technology has some positive and negative effects on
humanity. It is up to us to decide what action we are going to take to maintain balance in our
lives to offset all of the related problems in terms of human and machine things.
