I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, the students will be able to:
1. Know how to analyse competition.
2. Distinguish how to operate a start-up business.
3. Identify one’s role in a business organization.
4. Estimate the operating expenses of the chosen business.

A. Preliminary Activities

A student will be asked to give a recall on the previous lesson.

B. Lesson Procedure
1. Activity – Class Discussion
a. The teacher will ask the students if they have researched on the analysis of the
competition and operations and management.
b. The teacher collects the insights of the students’ researches.
c. The teacher will call four (4) students to share their research.

2. Analysis and Discussion


a. How do we analyze our competitors in the market?
b. What are the factors that must be determined in the analysis of the competition?
c. As newbie entrepreneurs, how do we operate our start-up business?
d. What are the things that must be considered in the operations and management of a
start-up business?
3. Abstraction
The teacher deepens the lesson by discussing further about analysis of the
competition and operations and management.

4. Application
Each group in the business plan project will write their competition analysis and
operations and management plan. They will be guided by the two (2) worksheets in the next
page. They will write their answers in the worksheet. They will choose a representative from
their group to report their output in the class. Each group will be given 10 minutes to
accomplish the worksheet.

IV. EVALUATION
The students will be evaluated orally for checking of understanding.

Research on the parts on the third section of a business plan.

that product is marketed and who they are marketing to. This will be your guide in creating a
marketing plan.

1. Managing Partners- will act as Presidents; in-charge of the business overall practice,
management, and day-to-day operations.
2. Finance Team – in-charge of the business finances
3. Operations Team – in-charge of the raw materials/resources to make the product
4. Sales and Marketing Team – in-charge of the advertising, promotions, and sales of the
product
5. Auditing Team – checks and balances the business finances; checks if the business
transactions are correct and if the business is on track and makes profit
