Enhanced Instructional Management for Parents,
Community and Teachers
e-IMPACT is a technology-enhanced alternative
learning delivery mode for basic education.
It was developed to address high student
population and high percentage of dropouts.
It is a management system where the parents,
teachers and community collaborate to provide
the child with quality education at less costs.

Principles of e-IMPACT
Children become active participants of the learning
process.
Learning materials are based on the national curriculum
standards of the Department of Education.
The essence of education is the learning process.
Learning can take place anywhere.

Multiple entry and exit.


Progress of learners is based on individual mastery and
speed.
Education is a socializing and leadership training process.
Instructional Management and Delivery of Instruction is
not only the responsibility of the teachers, but of the
parents and community as well.
The teacher is the manager of the learning process.

What is the new class setup?


Class sections become “families”.
Levels 1 to 6 are combined in one family.
Each family is composed of 40 to 50students
One Instructional Supervisor (IS) may handle 2 families
Total pupils for one IS should notexceed 120
How are students grouped into
families?
Friends, neighbors and siblings are grouped together in
the same family.
The composition of a family is heterogeneous. There is a
mix in gender and ability levels.

Open High School Program

Alternative Mode of Delivering Secondary


Education for Both Public and Private Schools
The Open High School Program (OHSP) is an alternative
mode of secondary education that uses distance learning.
It puts premium on independent, self-pacing and flexible
study to reach learners who are unable to start or complete
secondary education due to problems of time, distance,
physical impairment, financial difficulties, social or family
problems.
It is an alternative mode of formal secondary education program run
by the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE) of the Department of
Education (DepED) of the Republic of the Philippines.
The program provides an opportunity for elementary school
graduates, high school drop-outs and successful examinees of the
Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT) to complete secondary
education in a purely distance learning mode.
The program provides printed self-learning modules for students to
use for their lessons and classroom activities.
This program aims to facilitate access of every Filipino to
quality education and equip the learners with basic
functional literacy tools and content that are essential for
their growth and development as a person.
Who are qualified to enroll under OHSP?
• Filipino citizen
• Independent learner
• Have completed the pre-requisite grade or year level
• Must pass the Independence Learning Readiness Test (ILRT)
and the Informal Reading Inventory (IRI)
