PRED 1313: The Teacher and the School Curriculum

September 21, 2022

ACTIVITY 1 (By Group)

Directions:
1. Group the class into seven (7) groups.
2. Prepare a presentation that will answer the questions assigned to your group.
3. Powerpoint/ Canva (or whatever app you are going to use) presentation will be submitted on
Monday, September 26, 2022 via Google Classroom. Kindly message in our GC the name of your
leader so that I may be able to assign them in the submission of the powerpoint.
4. Presentation will be done on our Synchronous Class on Tuesday, September 27 (for BEEd 3A,
BECEd 3B, BSEd Science and BECEd 3A) and on Wednesday, September 28 (for BEEd 3B, and
BSEd Math).

GROUP 1
What can you say about the points of view between Traditional and Progressive curriculum? Which do
you think is more appropriate now?

What have you learned about the Types of Curriculum Operating in Schools?

GROUP 2
Based on Philippine Constitution of 1987, what should be the aim of all schools? Are they aligned with
the aims of Elementary, Secondary and Tertiary Education?

Why should schools be guided by its vision, mission and goals?

GROUP 3
What should be the basis in choosing the content of the curricula? Why?

GROUP 4
How important are instructional strategies in providing curriculum experience to the learners? Why?

According to Worthen and Sanders, (1987) all curricula to be effective must have the element of
evaluation. What do you think should be evaluated? Why?

GROUP 5
What do you know about teaching? What knowledge is needed tounderstand this process?

GROUP 6
What is learning? What are the ways of learning? When do say that we have learned?

GROUP 7
How does teaching and learning connect to each other? What are the ways in doing these together?

How do you think students nowadays should learn? Is there really a big difference in the way they
should learn now as compared before? Why?
ACTIVITY 2 (By Group)

Directions:
1. With the same group that you have in Activity 1, work on the APPLICATION ACTIVITY that can be
found on your Module 1 Course Packet 1, pages 29-30.
2. Prepare a presentation that will answer the assigned task to your group.
5. Presentation schedule will be announced on our Synchronous Class Meeting on September 27
(for BEEd 3A, BECEd 3B, BSEd Science and BECEd 3A) and on Wednesday, September 28 (for
BEEd 3B, and BSEd Math).

ACTIVITY 3 (Individual)

Directions:
1. Answer the Assignment indicated on page 34 of your Module 1 Course Packet 1.
2. Use the Google Docs in answering your assignment so that you could subject your answer to
Grammarly and plagiarism test.
3. Date of submission will be posted in our google classroom
