Internship Work – Robotics

*Before starting your Internship, kindly read this document fully before the final Presentation
Problem Statement
Design a 4 Axis Robot Arm for Loading & Unloading Process.
Find
1. For Design this robot what are all the components required?

Answer includes the entire component list with detailed specification in table along with
proper justification of selection.

2. How many DOF the robot has?


Answer includes the number of DOF, Joints, Links and possible motions of every joints.
Answer may be explained through a hand sketch or by calculation.
3. Which device is used to actuate your robot?
Answer includes the Actuator Model Number, Type, Quantity, drives with detailed
Technical Specification.
4. Based on the Actuators, drives you choose, which controller Board you prefer?
Answer Includes number of pins to be required in the controller board depends on the
Actuators, drives with detailed specification of controller.
5. Based on the Actuators you chose, what is the maximum payload it can carry, how
it’s been calculated, provide the justifications.
6. What is the type of end effector is integrated in the robot?
Answer Includes the type of end effector. If it is Mechanical Finger type gripper, answer
include the hand sketch, number of fingers, mechanism of motion. Else you can use
pneumatic & magnetic source for grasping. Participant able to explain what are the
objects it can grasp, dof with justification.
7. How do you control the motion of Robot Arm?
Answer Includes the controlling device like teach pendant able to control the motion of
each joints. Wired & Wireless communication can be use.
8. What are the limitations of your Robot?
Answer Includes the constraints like the angle of rotation of every joint, workspace,
payload, type of objects it grasps leads to major constraints of the Robot.
9. Which type of Power Source needed for this application?
Answer Includes the Power Source Device needed with Proper Technical Specifications.
Power source shouldn’t portable type.

11. Methodology
Answer includes the flowchart of the solution to this process, how you will present the
solution orally through Flow Chart.
12. Budget
Answer includes price of each components and materials in a Table Format, which
shouldn’t exceed 10,000 INR.
Table includes the components with model number, quantity, price (official price from
any sellers)
13. After Selection of all components, frame the appropriate time line for each process
to the final product taken by you.
Answer includes the time period for each required process in this application (ex. I
required 3 Days for Circuit Connection of all the components)
Answer should be in Table Format includes type of process, time required for each process
and finally calculate the overall duration of this project
14. Hand sketch of Circuit Connection
Answer includes circuit connections of Actuators, drives, controlling device (teach
pendant) power source to controller board (Pin Numbers of each devices to controller
Pins)
15. Sketch of your Robot
Provide the entire design of Robot. Can use paint/any software’s/online tools to complete
this task.
Presentation

❖ All the Works and Results must submit in Power Point Format (ppt) starting from Problem
Statement, Your Solution and Answers for above questions
❖ PPT must include an Opening Slide with your Details
❖ Submit your Final PPT at the end of Internship Work (20 Days from the date of Starting) to
edu.roboram@gmail.com
❖ Presentation date will be fixed & informed to you.
❖ At the Presentation Day, max time period for Presentation is 20 minutes.
❖ At first, you need to explain the problem statement
❖ If your overall work is good, will eligible to get Internship Letter or otherwise we will give
suggestions and modifications to improve the quality of Work.
❖ Those who are not presented well on 1st time, will provide additional time (1 Week) for
improvement and will present again in another day
