4 1 General Information

1.1 Notes

1.1.1 Safety Information

 WARNING
Improperly established protective ground conductor connections during installation,
maintenance, or service.
Personal injury due to electric shock.
 Protective ground conductor tests shall be performed in accordance with the in‐
structions in the technical documentation prior to initially switching on the device/
system, as well as after finishing all types of service / installation activities and prior
to handing over the system to the customer.

 CAUTION
Suspending, or motorized system parts (e.g. table or C-arm) start moving unintention‐
ally when accessing eletromechanical parts, e.g. while replacing drives or brakes.
Risk: Personal injury
 Press the service or emergency stop switch, and secure suspending parts (e.g. ta‐
ble or C-arm) before starting critical service activity.

 WARNING
Misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment because of incorrect results from the quantifica‐
tion software.
This can lead to death or serious bodily injury!
 Perform the geometry adjustment carefully.

 WARNING
Room size is incorrectly configured.
Injury to personnel or damage to the system possible.
 Following installation and following service work, check the collision zones.

1.2 Requirements

1.2.1 Required Aids and Tools


All tools, test equipment, and auxiliary tools, with the exception of the “standard service
and installation tool kit,” are listed and specified in the Service Tools Catalog in the SIE‐
MENS MED SPC (Service Part Catalog on CD-ROM or on the intranet).

3.2 Position check, C-arm and table


1. Open the service software: Test Tools > Stand & Table Tests > Position Check, C-
Arm and Table
2. Press Select.
3. Check the deviation between sensor and motor for the C-arm and table axes:

a) Move the C-arm and table in the axes displayed in the list (use SCM / TCM).
b) Press Go.
 The values are read out.

c) Check to make sure the deviation between sensor and motor is within tolerance.
d) Continue with the System Troubleshooting Guide and motion control trouble‐
shooting.

3.3 Position check, stand


1. Open the service software: Test Tools > Stand and Table Tests > Position Check,
Stand
2. Press Select.
3. Check the deviation between sensor and motor for the stand axes:

a) Move the stand in the axes displayed in the list (use SCM / TCM).
b) Press Go.
 The values are read out.

c) Check to make sure the deviation between sensor and motor is within tolerance.
d) Continue with the System Troubleshooting Guide and motion control trouble‐
shooting.

3.4 Position check, origins


1. Open the service software: Test Tools > Stand and Table Tests > Position Check,
Origins and Tool
2. Press Select.
3. Press Go.
 The values are read out.

 The test results would need to be evaluated by the developer. This is only necessary if
the CSE needs to escalate the issue.

ing.

3.5 Proximity switch checks


1. Open the service software: Test Tools > Stand and Table Tests > Proximity Switch
Check
2. Press Select.
3. Press Go.
 The proximity inputs are read out.

4. Continue with the System Troubleshooting Guide and motion control troubleshoot‐
ing.


The tube cover and pivot base rotation proximity switch checks are combined.
Both will be shown as active even if only one of them is pressed.

3.6 Digital input, C-arm and table


1. Open the service software: Test Tools > Stand and Table Tests > Digital Input, C-
arm and Table
2. Press Select.
3. Press Go.

stop Check
2. Press Select.

6.1 Stand Checks

6.1.1 Brake Test


1. Position the stand into parking position (select "parking position" in "system position")
2. Deflect the SCM joystick until the brake test runs.
 A message is displayed indicating whether or not the test was successful.
3. If the test is not successful, then continue troubleshooting with the System Trouble‐
shooting Guide.

6.1.2 Functional check, brake test of column brake


1. Press the brake release button.
2. Move the column manually.
3. If the test is not successful, then continue troubleshooting with the System Trouble‐
shooting Guide.

6.1.3 Plausibility check, stand positions


Plausibility check, stand axle positions:
n CRAN/CAUD
n LAO/RAO
n Stand Rotation
n Stand Longitudinal
n SID
n C-arm lateral
 If any of these are not as they should be, then continue troubleshooting with
the System Troubleshooting Guide.
Check the “Head Side” system position.
1. Move the system toward the head side (via "System positions").
2. Check the following values:
- Stand Rot = 0
- CRAN/CAUD = 0
- LAO/RAO = 0
- C-arm lateral = 0
- SID = 120 cm
3. If any of these are not as they should be, then continue troubleshooting with the Sys‐
tem Troubleshooting Guide.

6.2 Table Checks

6.2.1 Functional check, proximity switch, for table lift


Please refer to the functional test for the proximity switch of the table lift, which is descri‐
bed in the Replacement of Parts document for the table, and which is supposed to be per‐
formed after the table lift motor is replaced. ( Function Test / AXA6-TBL.841.01)

6.2.2 Functional check, table rotation interlock switch


Please refer to the functional test for the table rotation interlock switch, which is descri‐
bed in the Replacement of Parts document for the table, and which is supposed to be per‐
formed after the rotation interlock unit is replaced. ( Function Tests / AXA6-TBL.841.01).

6.2.3 Functional check, grabber block


Please refer to the functional test for the grabber block switch, which is described in the
Replacement of Parts document for the table, and which is supposed to be performed af‐
ter the table lift motor is replaced. ( Function Test / AXA6-TBL.841.01)
